Cardi B is taking her talents to the silver screen in F9.
Back in October of 2019, ET Canada reported that Cardi B would appear in the newest installment of the Fast & Furious as the newest member of the franchise.
However, with F9 being delayed due to Covid-19 and no details pertaining to what Cardi’s role would be, fans were left in suspense. After over a year of waiting, audiences finally have an answer.
The “WAP” rapper will be playing Leysa, a character who gets unearthed due to being tied to lead Dom Torretto’s (played by Vin Diesel) past. The official trailer that announced her exact roll dropped during Super Bowl Sunday (February 7).
Despite this being Cardi’s first film role, it seems like it would only be a matter of time before her knack for theatrics would open doors for her in the movie world.
In March 2020, Diesel shared that his daughter was the one who suggested that Cardi have a role in the upcoming F9 while appearing as a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, “I said, ‘It’s a great idea!’ As she’s listening to ‘I Like It Like That.’”
Fast and Furious 9 is set to be in theaters on May 28, 2021.
