Introducing Tatiana Owens: An independent funk/pop singer based in NYC

“When the world opens back up, I look forward to hitting the stage again!” Owens told RemixdMag.

New York City-based singer Tatiana Owens is a 27-year-old artist who describes her sound as being pop/funk. Her music reinforces many positive messages such as loving and embracing yourself for who you are.

“Those are the words that get me by and help me better myself,” Owens said about her music. “I hope that fans take away a new appreciation for this new wave of collaborating throwback tunes with the new sounds of today.”

Owens told RemixdMag that she knew that she wanted to pursue a career in music when she was just 15 years old.

“I was raised listening to music from the greats like Michael Jackson, Prince, Earth Wind and Fire, Chaka Khan and many more,” Owens said.” In fact, I started my roots in gospel music. So, my sound today has a lot of powerful, soulful belts while adding the pop/funk elements with the music.”

The multi-talented singer named her top 5 musical icons to be Caka Khan, Prince, Whitney Houston, Stevie Wonder, and Yolanda Adams.

As an incredible live singer, her vocalist abilities prove that she is a powerhouse of a force to be reckoned with. She has performed at legendary venues such as The Cutting Room, Arlene’s Grocery, The Groove and twice at the historic Lincoln Center. She has even shared the stage with the great Stevie Wonder, performing background vocals on his “Songs in the Key of Life” tour. The singer’s views on the YouTube comedy channel “The Key Of Awesome” are numbered in the tens of millions. Some of her goals for the future include being able to tour all over the world and share her music with various audiences. While her live shows have included performing for audiences in different cities such as Los Angeles, New York, Nashville, and Detroit, she is eager to take her sound even further across the globe.

“I love to travel and experience new cultures and different ways of living,” Owens told RemixdMag.

Audiences can expect a consistent delivery from her music every time, along with her signature versatility that’s displayed on every record. Marlounsly releases dreamy music video for “Honey”

The visual is a vibrant, colorful island escape.

Marlounsly dances in what appears to be an island oasis in her new video for “Honey.” The music video kicked off the start of Mother’s Day Weekend, and has a vibrant, dreamy scheme that just as fun to watch as the song is to listen to.

Throughout the video, the South Florida-based singer swings and sways to the ballad while singing directly to the camera. The R&B-tinged song matches its dynamic visuals and vibrant backdrops.

In a recent interview with RemixdMag on Instagram Live, Marlounsly told the audience that “Honey” was created as the result of her freestyle singing to a beat one day.

As far as creating the visuals, the singer said that she just felt out the vibes of the song and already knew how she wanted it to look. She also revealed that the video was filmed in Miami in a quiet backyard.

“The beat was just so chill, I saw myself on an island,” Marlounsly told RemixdMag. “It was just like a peaceful backyard, island-y area that I was able to have fun it. When I listened to the beat, I wanted to listen to the video there and I kind of just moved and went along with it.”
“For the most part I was feeling the song, and I was just being honey!” She added.

Meet new artist Mark Savage: Military vet, rapper, entrepreneur, songwriter, and producer

“Being in the military, seeing the world, and meeting new people influenced my sound,” Savage told RemixdMag.

Rising rapper Mark Savage, born and raised in Charlotte, NC, is on his way to making a name for himself.

Savage is a Hatian-American rapper who is also a former military veteran, and has experimented with a few different career paths before deciding to pursue his career in music.

Before choosing to dedicate himself to rap full-time, the artist has earned three degrees, pursued a pro debut boxing career, and has worked at a few corporate-level jobs before he realized that music was his ultimate passion. He says that although his experiences at these places were valuable, all of these paths led him back to music, and ultimately credits his past experiences for being able to help influence his sound.

“Being in the military, seeing the world, and meeting new people influenced my sound,” Savage told RemixdMag.

Influenced by artists such as Nipsey Hussle, Boosie, Lil Wayne, Gucci Mane, and Bob Marley, Savage knew that music was his passion from a very young age. He also said that his sister passing away was motivation for him to continue to make music.
“My goal is to make a few great hits and keep growing my fan base,” Savage said. “Ultimately, I want to just be the CEO out here like J Prince.”

When asked about his sound, he said, “It’s wavy … I say that because I don’t sound like anyone, but I literally be riding these instrumentals that folks send to me.”

In 2017, Mark Savage dropped his third single called “Letter To J. Cole,” which has earned over 216,000 streams since it first dropped. You can view the video, which was released last year, on YouTube.

The rapper says that his ultimate goal is to leave a mark in this life that his son will be able to reap the benefits from. He wants his family to “never have to worry,” and he’s confident that his music will make him a legend. Because of his distinctive sound and relatable lyrics, Savage promotes a message that’s meant to serve as inspiration for other’s who may have had similar pasts.

Be on the lookout for his first EP, which he said is dropping this summer. As of now, he’s not releasing the name of the project but wants his fans to know that he’s “not doing any hooks, just straight bars.”

Vanessa Béjine creates uplifting, encouraging music that is versatile and pushes boundaries

The versatile artist will be dropping her debut album this year, in Summer 2020.

Meet Vanessa Bejine: A rising artist born in West Covina, CA. Béjine is multi-talented singer with a distinctive vocal range.
Growing up listening to musical icons such as Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, and Celine Dion, Béjine pulls from her list of muses to create and inspire the music that she makes now. In an interview with RemixdMag, Béjine said that she knew she wanted to pursue a career in music when she was just five years old.

“I feel like I’ve always kind of known that I wanted to sing,” the artist told RemixdMag. “I use to sing at family gatherings, and at night time when it was time for bed, I would go into both of my sisters’ rooms and sing them to sleep.”

The artist says she creates all of her songs from her own experiences, and prefers to write directly from the heart in order to “bring emotion into the music.”

Her songs, which include favorite singles such as “Addicted” and “Breathe You” showcase her ability to turn an emotional topic into a relatable track that anyone can enjoy. Béjine’s unique sound and delivery set her apart from the crowd, and offer an uplifting melody to sing along to. She uses many soft pop vocals that are mixed with a strong piano and/or guitar instrumental, with upbeat mid-tempo vibes.
“Music has always been in my heart, but it wasn’t until I moved to Los Angeles in 2012 that I really started pursuing it full-force and investing in it. I was introduced to a few people in the music industry and they helped me get started. From there, the rest is history.”

As far as what fans can look forward to from her, Béjine also announced that she will officially be releasing her first album this year (expected Summer 2020), and will also have two new music videos that she’s planning to drop this year.

In the meantime, you can listen to her latest single, “Better Days,” which is available on all streaming platforms.

“Every day is not always going to be good, but it’s important we keep pushing on, even in the moments we feel we cant go on anymore,” Béjine said. “That’s when our biggest breakthroughs happen. There’s ‘Better Days’!”

Jay-Z, Meek Mill, and more write an open letter to demand justice for Ahmaud Arbery

Jay-Z, Meek Mill and more wrote an open letter on Sunday that demands justice for Ahmaud Arbery. Alicia Keys and Yo Gotti also signed the letter addressed to Georgia state officials.

“The world is now familiar with the story of Ahmaud Arbery, a 25-year-old African-American man who, while out jogging in Brunswick, Glynn County, GA, was hunted down and shot to death by two white men, Gregory and Travis McMichael,” the letter begins. “Their arrest yesterday on charges of murder and aggravated assault — more than two months after Ahmaud’s death — was a positive first step on the long road toward justice. But it only strengthens our resolve to see that justice is eventually served.”
