Rapper King Von was tragically shot multiple times at a hookah lounge in Atlanta late last night after a violent altercation. Von and two other men involved in the shooting have died from their injuries.
The 26-year-old rapper was one of the emerging stars from Chicago and was well known for his ability to paint vivid pictures of his violent past.
Since the announcement of his death, the “Crazy Story” rapper has received an outpour of condolences from music heavyweights like Kenny Beats, Polo G, and Asian Doll, among many others.
Chopsquad DJ, a close friend of Von’s, and producer of songs like “Took Her to the O” and “Crazy Story, Pt.3” took to Instagram live to express his sorrow. Through tears, he said, “I love you bro, on my momma’s soul.”
Dallas rapper Yella Beezy enlists the help of Gunna on new track, “On Fleek.” The track is smooth yet energetic and comes after the announcement of his upcoming album Blank Checc, which he’s been teasing this year. Beezy released “Headlocc” with Young Thug and “Solid” with 42 Dugg, both of which will appear on the album. Blank Checc will be the “That’s On Me” rapper’s first new album since 2019’s Baccend Beezy. The project is slated to be released on December 4th.
Kizz Q’s “Pop Star” is available to watch on YouTube. =
Kizz Q is an independent artist from St. Louis, Missouri who’s just getting his start in the industry. The rising talent just dropped his video for “Pop Star,” which is out now! You can check out the talented rapper’s video below, and continue reading to learn more about him.
What city are you from/ Where are you based now?
I’m from St. Louis, Missouri. Based in St. Louis
What is your artist name? What is your real name? How did you get your artist name?
My artist name is Kizz Q. My real name is Quincy Moore. I got my artist name from a famous quote “Keep It Simple Stupid” the K.I.S.S. acronym. I switched both of the S’s to Z’s, so instead of it being “kiss” it’s Kizz Q. I also use to wear a lot of KSwiss shoes in elementary school so as a double meaning I took the W and S from KSwiss and changed it to Kizz Q.
At what point in your life did you decide to pursue a career in music?
I decided that I wanted to pursue a career in music at 5 years old. That’s when I first started to rap and sing.
Has your upbringing played a role in shaping who you are and defining your sound today? If so, how?
Yes my upbringing has. It definitely shaped me in to the man that I am today. It allowed me to be myself and not try to be something that I’m not. It also allowed me to tap in to my gift and use my musical talent the way God planned it to be.
Tell us about the project that you are promoting. What is it about? Is it a single or EP? Also, what is the name of the last project you released?
The name of my new project is an upcoming EP called Headlines. It’s about elevating and accepting to the next level of your higher self. Musically I know I’ve elevated to a higher level in my artist. Not just being a headliner for a show, or making the headlines on the news for something negative, but making it known that you’re at a bigger and better level in your life and creating awareness for other people to be the best version of themselves. The name of the new single that I am promoting is called “Pop Star” the song is about living the life of a musical star and having a great time. That song will be on the upcoming EP Headlines. The project that I released before was another EP called Jump.
