What city are you from/ Where are you based now?I’m from Boston, Massachusetts! I like to consider it as the capitol of USA lol! I’m also based here as well.

What is your artist name? What is your real name? How did you get your artist name?I was born Jerod Brown and later was adopted at the age of two years old which would change my name to Jerod Brown-Carter! I got my name Yahweh Almighty when I was locked up it came to me through meditation. Yahweh to some means God, but to me it means creator! I’m just here to create at the highest level.

At what point in your life did you decide to pursue a career in music? When my mother passed it was the best way to channel my emotions and was therapy for me. Music was just an outlet to communicate to people what I wasn’t comfortable to say out loud! 2 years ago I really just buckled down and decided this is how I’m going to make my mark in the world.

Has your upbringing played a role in shaping who you are and defining your sound today? If so, how?

I would definitely say it has. Coming from a background of an orphan you tend to think you’re a mistake, you have to prove yourself for people’s approval, and sometimes get mixed with the wrong crowd just because those same guys become the family you never had! All that said, it made me an advocate for my people and more. My sound is limitless! I’m just getting started.

How would you describe your sound to readers who may not be familiar with you?

I would have to say my sound is just ENERGY! That’s the best way for me to describe it lol!

What ultimately inspired you to dedicate yourself to a music career?

Well quiet as kept I come from a musical background and seeing my predecessors accomplishments, ups and downs made me want to start a legacy of my own. To do it my way.

What’s one reason you are passionate about music and what inspires you?

THE REVIEW! In other words FEEDBACK! I love the feedback! All feedback is necessary to me! Bad feedback allows me to perfect my craft to the liking of the listener(s) and good feedback shows me that the listener(s) have connected with me which is the best feeling a human being can experience. It shows you’re not alone you know! You’re not crazy or you have someone who relates! That too inspires me to do what I love.

Do you have any hobbies outside of music? What do you do to stay creative?

Well first and foremost my kids wouldnt necessarily be a hobby but they do keep me busy lol! I also love to cook! Definitely will open a chain of restaurants one day. Educating myself about energy, laws of the universe, and meditation is something I’m definitely fascinated about!

What were you doing before music?

I was in the streets you know hustling trying to get a piece of the American pie to be honest!

Who are some of your main musical influences?

The first artist I connected with was DMX that’s my dog for real! Bone Thugs N Harmony. Their the reason I use melodies. Tupac Shakur! He was educated. My most recent would definitely be Kanye West! We both lost our moms, we’re both eccentric and have a lot of the same views about life. He’s family to me and I haven’t even met ‘em yet (weird I know)

What are some of your music career goals for the future?

Definition of a goal is ultimately a desired result! So for me my goal would be to become a Pioneer of my generation, to have longevity,

Tell us about your recent projects?

I released an EP ‘You Think You Know’ about 3 months ago and accumulated over 400k streams independently. The single “Derek Jeter” I believe is over 105k views on YouTube. My recent single “Perky Land” which just hit streaming platforms Is now being played on major radio here in my city and in various states!

What’s one of your most proud projects so far?

The most proudest project is the one I’m about to give the world! “Streets Aint Loyal”! My boy Los (CEO of Vybe Ent) really believed in my artistry and allowed me to pour my energy on this record. I believe this will be the record the masses will identify with me on. Hopefully.

What are some projects you’ve done in the past that you are most proud of and why?

First and foremost I love the music business so my first love was the business! Managing and songwriting. I written records for Eddy Fish, Supastar LT, Bobbi Kristina Brown-Houston (who happens to be my little cousin) and have song written and managed my younger cousin Bobby Brown Jr.! The last two were most special because they were family! Felt honored when they felt my expertise was good enough to shape their careers. They will truly be missed.

What’s next for you? Are you working on any upcoming projects we should be on the lookout for?

Well I just wrapped up a tour with Dj Scheme and Danny Towers! Those guys are dope asf! Los and myself are working on a huge project with Mr Boomtown (BET Nominated Music Director) that I won’t speak to much about but it’s huge. Talks of a tour with artist SNOT in May and should dropping an EP soon as the people are ready for it! Tons of work to be done but I’m built for it!

What message do you hope fans take away from your music?

My message would be CREATE! Whatever it is, happiness, destruction, etc. THE GOOD THE BAD AND THE UGLY AND THE INDIFFERENT! It’s what makes this world, THE WORLD! Show people you existed here! Get going!

New music: Type Uno shares new heartfelt project ‘FOR the LOVE’

Type Uno’s FOR the LOVE is streaming everywhere now!

LA native Type Uno is from Windsor Hills and has been making music since high school. He’s on a roll and has created a lot of dope music. Now, he’s taking things to the next level with his brand new project FOR the LOVE which is out on all platforms.

The eight-track project is a concept record with the theme transpiring into “a true love story.” Type Uno regards FOR the LOVE as being a true story about what he went “through and all the feelings that played a part, you have the love side of the project, and then you have the cold-hearted side of the project.”

Although this project just dropped, Type Uno says that fans have a lot to look forward to from him in the coming months. As far as what he’s working on after this project, Type Uno says he wants to release merch.

“Next for me is merchandise, keeping the ball rolling with this project,” he said. “I do have a new project I’m working on already while this one is about to roll out, shows, music videos, bunch of singles I’m looking to drop. No release dates but after this project FOR the LOVE you’re going to see me releasing new music.”

FOR the LOVE project opens with “ME AND YOU,” a boppy single that is pleasant, sensual, and the perfect meet-cute story. The song is a narrative story about meeting the right girl you “admire” and find “attractive.” The following song, “REST OF MY LIFE,” features a sample from TLC’s “No Scrubs,” making for a loveable and idiosyncratic track. The track is perfect. It has this; I think I found the love of my life type of spirit, serenading your girl, making her feel special.

The third track on the album, “TIME WITH YOU,” is about being in love, unconditionally in love, “every single day giving it” his all. The song is the perfect love song, giving everything you have to make the person you love and encourage the happiest. Type Uno doubles down this idea with his track, “PROMISE,” promising they will love each other and treat each other like “gold.” The song is sweet and full of the optimism of young, new love. It seems four tracks in Type Uno have found the love of his life, the woman he trusts and connects with and admires the most in the world.

The fifth track on the project isn’t a single at all. Instead, it is a poem entitled, “THE IDEA OF WHAT WAS TRUE (POEM).” The poem is an entertaining and moving piece about the decaying of a relationship; as an anonymous woman ends on the line, “the idea of what was true got lost.”

The sixth track is the switch or the juxtaposition of the project. After the fifth track,” THE IDEA OF WHAT WAS TRUE (POEM),” Type Uno follows up with his single, “NO MORE,” where he details how he can’t love her anymore because he can’t trust her. The song has a hard-piercing beat with more bass, as Type Uno showcases his versatility and thematic genius. The changeup, but using a poem, a traditional medium for expressing love, separating the love songs from the breakup songs is brilliant.

Type Uno follows that with his only pre-released single for the project,” BULLSHIT,” featuring Brevin Rowand and Tyler Loyal, detailing how Uno’s girl was messing with another guy. The song is a good-ass breakup song when you don’t want to fuck with your ex anymore, finally leaving the situation and realizing you are better off without them. He then finishes the album with his song “CAN’T HOLD ONTO YOU,” finally shutting the case on the relationship. From good to bad, Type Uno realizes, even if you give your relationship your all, your partner can still disrespect and use you, and that was never true love.

Type Uno is a must listen to with his hit project, FOR the LOVE. From his cadence, beats, wordplay, subject matter, and album theme, he is sure to make a name for himself after this release. Be sure to stay tuned in with Type Uno on Social Media @type_uno.

Devon the Chief and Nef The Pharaoh bless audiences with visual for “Lil Baby”

Devon the Chief and Nef The Pharaoh’s “Lil Baby” is everywhere, streaming on all platforms now!

Bay Area-born Devon The Chief and Nef The Pharaoh link for an excellent visual for their hit single “Lil Baby.” The little over three-minute song features a gripping melodic hook and cadence that will make you fall in love. The song is about love and hanging with your girl and maybe getting into something a little crazy along the way.

The track features a melodic hook from Devon The Chief that boldly stands out and an exceptional verse from Nef The Pharaoh. The song has this harmony and theme that makes the track unique and personable. “Lil Baby” is a vibe, something to put on and drive to with your girl. It is a relationship anthem that makes you want to play it with your significant other.

The visual for “Lil Baby” opens with Devon The Chief & his girl kicked out for having loud sex in a hotel by security. The pair then continue to smoke a blunt in the parking garage and get food, where Devon assaults and confronts a worker leading to his arrest, showcasing a type of hood-love that seeps rawness and passion. The video then transitions to Nef The Pharaoh and his girl being intimate at a photo shoot. The perfect juxtaposition between the two couples. Where one is loud and lawless, passionate, yet the other is intimate and warm yet still just as passionate. The dichotomy of the two couples is what Devon wants you to take away from the video, finding something relatable in the visual from these two couples’ spectrum of love.

Devon’s goal with music is he hopes his “music touches people in a way to where to they don’t feel alone.” Devon’s purpose from his melody to the visual is always relating to his audience, allowing a connection of relatability to form. His adaptability and relatability are becoming his most influential asset as Devon is the next artist to watch out for; his cadence, style, and overall charisma are sure to move him to the top of the charts.
