Canadian R&B duo DVSN, signed to Drake’s OVO music, just signed one of the biggest management deals with LVRN, Love Renaissance. The duo consists of singer Daniel Daley and producer Nineteen85, whose origins began in 2015 with their first two tracks, “The Line” and “With Me.”
The tandem is known for its ethereal and sensual sound that is gripping and cathartic. There is this purging of emotion that comes from their authentic sound and themes of love and life. Known for their dreamy ballads, DVSN is looking to change the way R&B and Soul music are classified, redefining the genre and the sound, making the business deal with LVRN is a no-brainer. There is no one independently in musicology, making the kind of music LVRN has the last few years.
The pair will still be based musically with OVO Sound but managed by the LVRN company. While LVRN co-founder and head of A&R, Justice Baiden, said in an interview with Billboard Music that DVSN is in good hands.
“There is no other better home for R&B than what we’re creating. That’s just a fact. Anybody can say what they want. In the last four years, we put up arguably two, three classics in R&B. I don’t know anybody else that’s doing that that’s not a major label.”
The partnership is significant for the Toronto twosome, as it opens them to new audiences, sounds, and collaborations. They have reportedly been making music with Atlanta superstars Jermaine Dupri and Sean Garrett.DVSN joins a star-studded roster of signers and musicians such as Summer Walker, 6LACK, Shelley FKA DRAM, and many more talented artists. LVRN has deliberately gaining elite R&B artists who have been killing it on the charts, making LVRN the perfect home for DVSN and their unique ethereal sound.
