Peso Peso returns with new album ‘El Patrón’

Texas City, TX-native, Peso Peso has just released El Patrón, his latest nine track project with features from fellow Texas rappers Drippy and Sauce Walka. The project follows his previous single “Andalé” which was released on Cinco De Mayo with the announcement. As the title insinuates, Peso Peso sees himself as a boss in his own right. On El Patrón, Peso chronicles the adversities he faced on the come up in his Galveston County suburb on tracks like “Da Truth Hurts” while flexing his hard earned street credentials on “Where You Been At.” Despite being on house arrest, Peso Peso hasn’t let his legal woes get in the way of making music and performing shows in Texas. He’s currently planning on setting out on tour this July. “when they asked me if I signed to Sauce Walka, “shit, hell yea had to sign fast” / shit my momma smoked crack, my daddy smoked crack, and I had to live around that / man the shit I seen at a young age really had a ***** down bad / I jumped right on those streets yea I had to do it, I was robbin’ *****’s I was packing tools / and they parents ain’t want me round they kids, used to tell my granny i’m a bad influence”

After signing to Sauce Walka‘s Houston, TX-based label, The Sauce Factory, Peso Peso exploded onto the scene with the release of his breakout single,“Hardest Ese Eva.” The song and album of the same name catapulted the young rapper’s career, resulting in three subsequent albums, dozens of singles and EP’s, tens of millions of streams, and features and collaborations with Trippie Redd, Jackboy, HoodRich Pablo Juan, and Maxo Kream – all as an independent artist.

Despite his immense talent and recent success, Peso Peso still sees himself as an underdog within his community and the music industry at large. He’s lived a life between cultural divides and has always had the odds stacked against him, but with the release of his latest project, El Patrón, Peso Peso is finally ready to boss up and stake his claim to the throne as one of Texas’ hottest new rappers.

A Beck shares brand new song “You Coming Back?”

Anees talks about his latest release, “Slip,” why he makes music, and what’s next for the artist

Anees is gearing up to release his forthcoming track,” Love is Crazy,” which is dropping June 8th!

Anees, located in the DMV, where D.C., Maryland, and Virginia converge, has been making noise with his latest single, “Slip.” The song has done significantly well across the board, garnering close to 800K streams on Spotify, the first 600K streams in the first month alone, currently his most-streamed song to date.

Anees has said it’s been remarkable the amount of support and love he has seen across all his social media and streaming platforms from “Slip.” And that it is all he has ever wanted, to reach an audience and relate to them, for his audience to find something they like and grasp it, not only in his music but any music. He made “Slip” with the intent to achieve mass appeal on a sonic level but still having that “underground authenticity.”

And for Anees, that is what music is about, not the award shows or the money. Hell, it’s not even “making music.” It’s really his vocation. His “career path really isn’t just ‘making music,’ it’s really bout being able to spend [his] life being creative and living by intuition.” From him, music is communal. It bridges and connects humans from all walks of life, and that these “interpersonal connections” are the “richest part of life.”

During the interview with Remixd Magazine, Anees displayed himself as a genuine, caring, and conscious artist. From his authentic and vulnerable subject matter to his lyrical aptitude, seen on his Instagram, Annes has been able to produce a sound illustrated as “bouncy, uplighting, and introspective. Baby Blue of a nice sunlight sky, and a little clouds, with a thin stroke of light. Genreless- out of the cage.”
With a roster of introspective and lyrical conscious songs that bridge on poppy indie rap, Anees is undefinable. With such thoughtful songs as “Neverland Fly” and “Maybe,” Anees delivers sonically mesmerizing tracks as he raps about love, mental health, and just talking his shit, proving his lyrical aptitude as one of the best lyrically right now!

Anees also stated that he has some more singles coming our way. With this being some of his “best work yet,” said his forthcoming single, “blows ‘Slip’ out of the water! 100% better than ‘Slip!'”

Anees forthcoming single, “Love Is Crazy,” drops June 8th at midnight.

Dion Cardell drops gems in his new visual for his track “Red Flags”

Dion Cardell’s latest release, “Red Flags,” is now streaming on Youtube.

Dion Cardell’s latest visual for his track “Red Flags” is full of advice, awareness, and introspection. The visual opens with Dion Cardell telling his “kids” a story about his past life, one you wouldn’t typically share with your kids, but Dion makes a point about honesty here that is very beautiful.

Dion gathers his three kids around the bed and tells them a story about his own life. The music starts with Dion rapping about how he first “ignored [his] first red flag.”

The video then transitions to a dark screen with the words,”the following recordings are based on true events.” The visual then shifts to Dion in the corner of a restaurant, but with the main focus on a couple sitting down for dinner, offering an omniscient presence.

The couple begins their dinner on good terms. Then it switches when the girl believes her date is flirting with the server. A fight ensues, leaving the man there alone, as Dion is still in the background, offering advice bar by bar on the situation. The track is reflective and introspective as Dion tells his kids the hardships of his past relationship, getting engaged, all while finding out that his wife cheated on him. Dion says the track’s purpose is to be vulnerable and show audiences what happened to him when he rushed into something.

Dion wanted people to know that “we get ourselves into situations that end up hurting us because we ignored the signs that spoke to us. Sometimes we want the tower so bad that we rush to lay the foundation and end up building something that is bound to fall.”

The visual ends with Dion on a cliff by himself overlooking the water as the credits roll then transitions back into the conversation he was having with his kids. He tells his kids he holds no ill will toward his ex because “life throws obstacles sometimes,” and “eventually you grow and it gets easier to deal with.” He then tells his kids it was all okay because it led him to the man he is today and the family he has now.

Dion delivers an impeccable visual with a beautiful and heartfelt message. From the bars to the aesthetic of how it was shot to the hues of the scenic shots, “Red Flags” is a masterpiece, flawless and full of sentiment.
