We’ve been at the bottom for so long that we’ve gotten used to the way of living; we think it’s normal to go through certain struggles. ‘Let that choppa sing like a money machine’ is about the gun violence we experience to then making our way up and established in the world.”

The music of Portion is the result of self-discovery, perseverance, and trial-and-error. His upcoming project, which was recorded between Atlanta and his home studio in Toronto, encapsulates his growth and maturity over the past four years since his breakout hit “Fif’s World,” an emotional and deeply personal tribute penned for his late friend Anthony “Fif” Soares, brought him acclaim across North America.
