Johnny Quest The Rebel tags Cruch Calhoun for new song “Blue Diamonds”

New Jersey Hip-Hop stars join forces for a ‘Clash of the Titans’ as Trenton-born emerging star Johnny Quest The Rebel teams up with the prominent rapper Cruch Calhoun (Roselle, NJ) to deliver one of the state’s most exciting recent collaborations, “Blue Diamonds.”

With 2021 quickly coming to an end, Quest has decided to run into the new year on FIRE, ensuring that anyone who witnesses takes notice and recognizes that New Jersey is fully entrenched in the hip-hop scene. After dropping his last EP Money Dreamz in May (earning a BET Jams placement and features in publications such as Flaunt Magazine and All Hip Hop), he got back in the studio quickly. His follow up is “Blue Diamonds”, a verbal checklist to determine if you got the “glow”, even before others recognize it in you.

“Blue Diamonds” is a reflective look in the mirror, a reminder to all listening that pressure and experience are what build us into diamonds. With rising star producer Fatir offering cinematic style production, Quest brings listeners into his movie. They are taking a walk in the shoes of a star, right before his rise to fame. While Blue Diamonds is a story, it’s also a warning shot, a unification of North Jersey and South Jersey that has been in the making for some time. With Cruch Calhoun, a solidified star and frequent Dave East collaborator, offering OG perspective in a chilling verse, the record takes on a different feel.

Through his last few releases, Quest has begun building his reputation as one of the emerging forces in New Jersey. With Blue Diamonds, he only continues to shine bright as a burgeoning star.

Rising R&B artist Thuy releases debut EP “i hope u see this”

Today, rising R&B singer and songwriter, Thuy, releases her highly anticipated debut EP and visuals to i hope u see this, out now on all streaming platforms. The 9-track project released independently via Venice Music includes seductive and heartfelt singles, such as “chances” ft. DCMBR, “in my bag”, and “in my head.” Thuy has proven she’s a promising artist to watch – amassing over 60 million streams on her current releases. Thuy’s soothing vocals and authentic lyricism and honesty stand out in this project. i hope u see this is a beautiful and introspective collection of records touching on heartbreak, love, empowerment and self-confidence. i hope u see this arrives when the excitement for her music has never been stronger.

“The project has been in the works since the pandemic started, and when I thought of the title i hope u see this, I immediately knew that this is what I was going to call the project. Every track has a message that I felt needed to be heard,” says Thuy. “Songs like ‘chances’ and ‘figured u out’ are songs about my past heartbreaks and how much it taught me to be a better lover, especially to myself. ‘in my bag’ is a message to all the non-believers but more importantly, stands as an empowering anthem to myself. ‘universe’ and ‘u got me’, are love notes.”

“The title track is my audio signature and it really encapsulates all these themes into one song to close everything out. The music video for this last track is so important because it’s a look into my younger self, growing up, my culture, and how music, dancing, and singing was my sanctuary. I’m just in my little world, while my family, who also appears in the video, live out their daily life as immigrants,” says Thuy. “It’s just a cool backstory to who Thuy is, because that is also a really important theme to i hope u see this. As much as I hope the toxic ex sees this, or that the haters see this, I also hope that the little Asian girl or boy at home sees this and feels inspired by what I’m doing and think, ‘hey maybe I can do this too’. So there are a lot of themes that I touch on but it was important for me to highlight my culture and where I come from.”

With this project, Thuy hopes to inspire confidence in others and to be a voice for those who want to feel seen. 2021 marks a turning point for the relative newcomer who gained recognition for her powerful vocals and skillful songwriting from Billboard, MTV, Paper, NBC, Flaunt, Apple Music Best New Songs and more.

Interview: Ian Fischer talks meaning behind new song “tell ya”

Ian Fischer is a Miami-based artist to be on the lookout for. His music can be described as uptempo mixed with chill/pop type of music, where he fully knows how to express himself and tell stories that his audience can relate to. While he’s a newcomer to the music game, his talent speaks for itself and it’s a fact that he has something to say on every record that he puts out.

Fischer is definitely a talented artist and his newest single “tell ya” reflects all the hard work he’s been putting in. “Tell ya” is a song about a girl who he never got to express his feelings to after having a summer fling with her. She ends up leaving for school and Fischer sings about wanting to tell her how he felt about her.

Some of Fischer’s musical influences are John Mayer, Adam Levine (Maroon 5), Eddie Vedder (Pearl Jam), Elton John, Coldplay, and Charlie Puth, and it’s clear to see in his music how his inspirations contribute to his sound.

Keep reading to learn more about Ian Fischer, and stream “tell ya” below.

What city are you from/ Where are you based now?

I am from New York and am now based out of Miami, FL. I am attending the frost school of music at the University of Miami.

What is your artist’s name? What is your real name? How did you get your artist name?

My artist name is my real name, Ian Fischer! Nothing too crazy about how I got my name.

How would you describe your sound to readers who may not be familiar with you?

My music is a mix of uptempo and chill pop music. My most recent singles have been more uptempo compared to some of my unreleased music that is a chiller vibe, and shows the different styles my voice can cover.

What’s one reason you are passionate about music, and what inspires you?

Music has been my passion my entire life, and now I am at the age to create music that can relate to people and inspire my fans to listen to the lyrics of my music because there is a story behind everything.

Who are some of your main musical influences?

My main musical influences are John Mayer, Adam Levine (Maroon 5), Eddie Vedder (Pearl Jam), Elton John, Coldplay, and Charlie Puth.

Tell us the name of the project you are currently promoting? What inspired this project?

My new single is called “tell ya.” This project is about having a summer fling with someone and wishing it turned out to be more (a relationship) rather than her going off to school and not being able to tell her how I feel.

What’s next for you? Are you working on any upcoming projects we should be on the lookout for? Include some dates if you have them.

I’m working on a bunch of new singles that will drop over the next couple of months. I will also be releasing an EP or Album by the end of 2022!

What message do you hope fans take away from your music and this project?

The message I want to create for my fans is to follow your dreams because if you put the time and work in, the results will start coming slowly but surely. The second message I hope to create is to help my fans get through certain times in their life by listening and relating to my music. I try to create an uptempo vibe for most songs, even if they aren’t about the best story.
