seeyousoon’s HZLIKEHELL is out now

HZLIKEHELL’s is the electrifying second album for group seeyousoon.

Florida-bred music collective seeyousoon has captivated many already with their dynamic tracks consisting of eight-separate members contributing to their unique and often raucous sound that they credit the energetic, punk-leaning Florida rap scene with inspiring, along with a number of influences from a host of different sources and genres that quickly become obvious as you delve into the group’s eclectic catalog. “Magic” Official Music Video

The group has worked hard to cultivate a sizable and continually expanding fanbase, after bursting onto the scene last year with their album VIDÈ that was both well-received by the public as well as critically, garnering a great deal of editorial praise from several directions, as well as landing their track “Ben Affleck” into the latest Fifa game, which is sure to give the group an even greater platform on a beloved game’s fan-favorite soundtrack.

Their new album HZLIKEHELL is a twelve-track journey across a bevy of sounds with influences ranging from dance music, to hip-hop, and even pop at times as seeyousoon as a whole understands how to not allow a song to get too dreary or repetitive. Their music comes together seamlessly and speaks to the personal and musical chemistry of the group.

However their support is not just relegated to the editorial music community and rather are even being co-signed by bona-fide musical legends and influencers in their own right like T-Pain who called seeyousoon his favorite group out. The collective is composed of Ignacio, Kenny, Maddie, Josh, Dre, Drex, Luke, and Mitch who all fit perfectly like a puzzle while all still remaining on the same page of aiming to push musical boundaries and certainly show no fear or reluctance to experiment.

The past decade has seen a number of unique collectives make their respective marks and forge remarkable scenes and communities and seeyousoon is certainly well on their way to doing just that and rewriting the rules of music all at the same time. You can catch the group live on tour with Vermont collective 99 Neighbors on what should be a crowded stage with a massive unified presence for the remainder of this fall and into this winter.

Catch up with seeyousoon on Instagram @videtemox as they are currently on tour with 99 Neighbors and might be in a city near you.

New York artist Marcel Allen impresses audiences on new visual “Gourmet”

“Gourmet” is perhaps one of the very best descriptors of Freeport, New York’s Marcel Allen’s music from the highly manicured and soulful music he gives us, in small portions, but with his newest visual for his track “Gourmet,” Marcel is poised to begin releasing again leading up to his long awaited new project. Since 2018 Allen has given listeners small doses of his lyrically dense and introspective style that was coupled with always artistically bold visuals that further drive home the comprehensive attention to detail that he approaches his art with.

Marcel is an adept storyteller and skilled wordsmith who loves to flex his lyrical muscle over luxurious yet laid-back and sample-driven instrumentals, moving at his own pace and never hard pressed to over exaggerate a punchline or force a metaphor that doesn’t belong. This, along with his razor sharp wordplay, is exemplified in his latest visual as he subtly drops sleek like “We’re breaking ribs and hundred-dollar bills,” exemplifying Allen’s determination to his goals and unwillingness to let anyone stand in his way. He raps meticulously with a breeze, and that is a very difficult thing to do. His presence is unlike many others when he steps into the booth and I really hope that “Gourmet” is just the tip of the iceberg for future Marcel Allen music this year, or at the top of next. Keep an eye out for the Freeport, New York native as he prepares to unveil his much awaited debut project.

New music: Q. Garvin – “Quaker Lane Flows”

Q. Garvin is coming off the heels of his Olympian boxer Troy Isley approved Come N Find Mewith a different style. This time around, Q is showing a more genuine side to himself. His heartfelt moderate-paced record, “Quaker Lane Flows,” is stripped down so that you feel every lyric. The overly honest record features mentions of essential people in his life, his heartbreaks, and his family. Growing up as a black man, there are many various stresses and pressure that they feel. This song speaks to those feelings without running from them. He admits his mistakes in the Drake-Esque vulnerable style track.

Q has been through a lot. Disagreements with family, leaving school early, and other misfires have led him to this point. At the end of the record, you hear a lady friend send a smooth voicemail that seemed to inspire the calming record. Not everyone is going to feel you. Q. Garvin stays solid because he knows that his closest friends will always have his back. He will never fail because he will never give up. With the holidays coming around, these reflective records seem to hit differently.

Alex Freeman talks inspiration behind music career

“One reason I am passion about music is the ability to change and uplift the energy in the room,” she said in an interview with Remixd Magazine.”

Alex Freeman is someone to be on the lookout for. The talented pop R&B artist has a collection of music that speaks for itself and definitely has elements that anyone can relate to. The rising star has more music on the way, and in a recent interview with Remixd Magazine gets candid about her start in pursuing music and finding her sound.

Her music can be described as thoughtful, engaging, and fun — as it’s easy and sonically pleasing to listen to.

Keep reading to learn more about Alex below!

What city are you from/ Where are you based now?

I grew up in Syracuse, NY. I grew up basically in my parent’s health club working and helping them every day from 3am to 9pm. When I was 8 my family bought a house in Orlando and we traveled back and forth for 4 years till COVID and now, I live in Orlando, Florida.

What is your artist name? What is your real name? How did you get your artist name?

My name is Alex Freeman and I stick with that for everything, although I would like to move to the first name club…ALEX (#goals right?!).

How would you describe your sound to readers who may not be familiar with you?

I am a pop R&B artist creating music with twinges of soul, and orchestral pop and hip-hop, which is beautiful to me…and I hope you too!

What’s one reason you are passionate about music and what inspires you?

One reason I am passion about music is the ability to change and uplift the energy in the room. Something that inspires me is hearing and seeing fantastic writers, singers, producers, and overall creatives making fantastic music. Who are some of your main musical influences?

I really appreciate Christina Aguilera’s big powerful vocals. Otis Redding’s songs that just have a raspy and soulful feeling to them. Amy Whinehouse’s timeless and stylized sound that captures my heart. Sam Cooke had that melodic phrasing that I adore. Arianna Grande her impeccable range, amazing beats and record breaking career. She can write, produce, sing, perform and is just a powerhouse. I think that Brittney Spears, was one of the most dominate performers ever. I appreciate her situation that she is going through today that can help teach all of us up and coming that we need to know our business and study our rights, our publishing, our contracts and be part of our own careers.

Tell us the name of the project you are currently promoting? What inspired this project?

“Oh Baby” is my new song that came out a few weeks ago. The inspiration of the project was; you know that feeling you get when you really like somebody? It’s a bunch of emotions all at the same time. Nervousness, excitement, thrills, exhilaration, euphoria, to me it’s like butterflies and falling confetti- so that became a line in the song.

Date that this project dropped or is set to drop?

August 27th 2021, and my next song is “Broken Record” which will come out in October.

What is this project about in your own words?

“Broken Record” is a song that is my favorite so far of all my songs I have. This song to me represents me finding my sound as an artist. What the song is actually about is continuing in a relationship that is not really good for you, and going back even though it no longer serves you.

What’s next for you? Are you working on any upcoming projects we should be on the lookout for? Include some dates if you have them.

“Broken Record” in October and then I have a song named “Somebody” that is about suicide prevention, I wrote it after my mentor committed suicide and I realized that I had so many questions without answers form her. So, I decided I needed to use everything I could to learn from that situation and be a voice for others. I do not have an exact date- I think early next year, but I’m very excited for this project to come out.

What message do you hope fans take away from your music and from this project?

I write music from my experiences and hope that others can relate to the songs because of their experiences. I know that music has the power to heal, lift and encourage the soul and I hope that’s what my music can do for others.
