Los Angeles duo BlueBucksClan proves why they are the hottest new voices to emerge from the West Coast. The rap group does not disappoint when it comes to providing stone-cold punchlines and accompanying visuals that bring their songs to life.
BlueBucksClan has released a new visual for “When You See Us”, a track from their 2020 project Clan Way 2 . This song is laced with a signature eerie West Coast production, allowing BlueBucksClan to show off that notable South Central L.A. flow. The pairing visual for “When You See Us” definitely sets their tone for 2022, depicting artists DJ and Jeeezy Obama using effortlessly smooth demeanors to illustrate their lavish lifestyles. The video shows clips of the duo riding in Lamborghinis, celebrating Jeeezy’s birthday, and them basking in their glory with boastful, disrespectful bars that listeners can’t help but press replay.
She tryna ride on me slow like a speed bump, she gon f*ck and I ain’t hit her up in three months/ Knock her down get back in the field Kareem Hunt/ Puttin’ three grams in my wood we don’t need blunts, puttin’ stickers on these bags n***a think it’s pink runtz/
It appears that BlueBucksClan has not stopped unleashing content since their latest EP Clan Virus 2. With prominent features from names like Bino Rideaux, Lil Yachty, and Quavo, BlueBucksClan continues to ignite the hype behind their current and past projects. Every other week, a new visual has been posted for fans to enjoy, and the consistency is why BlueBucksClan had such a strong run in 2021. On the back of a robust and busy year in 2021 with three projects to his name, the “Soufside“ emcee Beloved King David gifts fans this mesmeric trilogy.
Using music therapy to counter his traumas, Killeen, Texas lyricist Beloved King David gets 2022 off to a flyer as he weaves through his latest offering in resilient fashion to emerge the hero on his latest record.
Turning up as his sixth project in under three years, Beloved King David tackles his brother’s fatal passing, plays producer on “Far From Home” on the soulful trap number, purges through the smokers anthem “Pack Smoker,” and grants us front row access to the mind of a young Southside native on the diabolical lifestyle he endures just to show up as if he is unperturbed.
“I tried my best to narrate how life has been after the passing of my brother Shaun Miller last year,” he said. “For example in the intro song (produced by me by the way) I said ‘couple nights back, I put the glick to my head and I swear I was ready to blow, then I remembered I got a lil bro, and I miss Shaun but I’m still on a mission that’s why I refuse to just go like a hoe.'”
“I went through a lot this year from beating Covid to having multiple Sickle Cell Crisis’ back to back. It got overwhelming at one point I just used this EP as a way to let it all out and not get consumed by my frustration and anger” Beloved admits to Remixd Mag.
The King‘s Memoir Vol.3 is the third installment of the three-part series that begun in 2019.
“The project I’m promoting right now is Titled ‘The King’s Memoirs Vol 3’. It was inspired in 2019, I wanted to put some of my older music back out that really held a special place in my heart. I felt as if I was leaving it all in the past during the transition into cultivating my new sound, and I never wanted myself or anyone else to forget the progress I’ve made throughout all these years. So I came up with this idea, and from it was born ‘The King’s Memoirs Vol. 1” he said.
The record is a concise and straightforward record that is highly replayable due to Beloved’s wits to make rap sound so easy to listen to, and his ability to offer more than straight raps. He has soul, perfect timing, character, thoughtfulness, and is an avid storyteller.
Although he is forced to rap through his troubles, the “Napkin” artist is definitely lucid in song, and has a bright future ahead of him. His EP’s last year also catapulted him to arguable notoriety as he potentially released his best work to date through the melancholic-entrenched project with tracks like “Intimate” and “My Bitch Don’t Love Me”, especially the latter where he utilizes his vocal chord and reverb to maximum delight as he channels his distraught at his uncontented lover.

The original track, which first debuted in October 2021 on Syko Bob and Snapkatt’s collaborative mixtape, “Nightmare Babies,” was met with positive reception, as fans quickly made the track go viral.
Much like the track’s originator, Calboy has taken an introspective stance, speaking on the struggles of street life, poverty, and gun violence, all while spitting bars allegedly directed at fellow rapper Meek Mill:
“I ran up the mills. I don’t fuck with no Dream Chasers, better stand on your business, know a whole lot of niggas that done died over green paper. I don’t need favors,” the rapper spits.
While anticipation for new music from the rap star runs high, fans can check out the official video to Calboy’s first release of the year, “Super Gremlin Freestyle,” down below:

“I’m passionate about music because no one can take it from me” the PG County hailed artist remarked to Remixd Mag.
Image: Taylor Mf’n Port (Instagram)
Born in George Washington Hospital, but forged in PG County – pristine rapper Taylor Mf’n Port is going places especially if his most recent single “G.O.G” is anything to go by.
The dynamic rapper with a zany voice and infectious song-writing and rapping dexterity is not letting up on this emotional single as he gears towards releasing his sophomore album. The “Lightskin” emoter can thread bars through any kind of beat but his single “G.O.G” that features sampled vocals from his legendary granddad is set to tear you up as you try warm yourself through the Winter chills as it shows his more vulnerable side letting his guard down as an artist.
“It is a single dedicated to my grandparents” he told Remixd Mag.
“I remember when I first started doing music and my grandma asked me to make her a song with no curse word in it so she can listen to my music. Well I took that idea and went above and beyond with it. My grand pops use to be in a church group called “The Gospel Revaluations” I use to love hearing my grand pops sing. It would make me cry sometimes. For years I’d ask him to sing for me and because he’s a lot older now he can’t really hit any notes. I wanted his voice to live on throughout history. So I took one of his old tapes and stripped his vocals from it. Now I’m on a song harmonizing with my grandfather. It really makes me so happy! This was actually my Christmas gift to them both. He always wanted to be an artist so I made him one. Any credit as a artist I get for this song he gets the same credit! As well as his old church group! The song itself took me over a year to start and complete but after thanks giving 2021 I had a lot more motivation to finish it.”
With the mood set by his rich grand dad Robert A. Medley Sr’s country vocals, who is also on the song’s collage-inspired cover art, he sings “I know our way is gonna seem hard, but remember with God for us, and the whole world against us, all we got to do is Hold On” in a touching intro before the instrumental veers into a bouncy, touching, and equally poignant medley that just takes you back, and Taylor spits his heart out melodiously like a true vet.
“This project is really just about my grandparents and how much I love them. I made a lot of mistakes growing up and no matter what they always loved me. May grandma would always sneak $20 in my pants pockets even when they had nothing! My grand pops would always call me Scooby Doo head… even when I was putting myself in jail. This project is just a small symbol of my love for them. I want to share it with the world!” Taylor unveiled to us.
In an introspective but vibey track we could all relate to in terms of accountability of where we have come from and appreciating our loved ones while they are still alive – this track is a perfect symphony to just sit back and chill to – probably spark a blunt to, or just take a light night drive to and feel it permeate through your bones.
Listen to the zoney record by the coolest rapper in the game right now:
Taylor is also expected to drop a single off his second album:
“I have an album dropping on Valentine’s Day Titled “MF’n Love” which will be all love songs. As well as a single dropping on January 21st 2022. I also have a lot of music that going to be released this year. Working on new flows and a new sound. As well as international sounds”
Isaiah started a 37 week challenge where he releases a song every Monday for 37 consecutive weeks. The second season of the series recently begun.
Image: Isaiah Mostafa shot by Rohan DaCosta (Instagram)
Oakland-based eclectic artist Isaiah Mostafa is a legend in the flesh. The alternative R&B neo-soul and pop artist has no bounds to his limits. He can sing, produce, write, mix and master music – and beyond all of that he is into yoga, stretching, and all-round wellness.
“I make music to stretch to,” Isaiah Mostafa says of his music. “Self care slaps. But I be going dumb too! Most my songs would make your gramma call me a nice boy but ima whole ass person.. so I be gettin sexy.”
At a glance, the “Aurange” performing artist comes off as a “hippie”, but he is clumsily brilliant. Starting August 2020, the wavy mastermind who also dabbles in the art of psychedelic tunes and a health-conscious lifestyle, embarked on a challenge to release music every Monday for 37 weeks straight without any drawbacks – feeding his fans a multitude of genres of music in the process.
The relentless mission has seen him drop off an array of records and he has already began the series’ second run this year.
“I’m on a mission! I’m not just tryna get famous. I am connected to the change makers, the community organizers, the visionaries and the revolutionaries. So anybody who is exposed to me is introduced to my world and my people. And my people go crazy and have the most to say, the purest intentions, the skills to make it all happen, and need to be funded!” he says of the challenge, as he hopes to galvanize another challenge soon, this time with 37 other creatives.
He also mentions the challenge is driven to help others believe that they can also achieve anything they put their mind to:
“I came up with the challenge to encourage myself to stop sleeping on myself, and as a call to action for those in my community to start living into their dreams too,” the charming Bay Area nurtured creator reveals.
Currently, Isaiah’s dedication and guile to his music again highlights why the “All I Wanna Do” adroit is a unicorn artist with a hunger that is carved out for success. His undivided attention and unapologetic impetus backed by his genius ethos spells greatness.
His latest music video “Freemotions” has a slated January 19th release date, and this will further his top form.
“‘Freemotions’ is a dedication to my old neighborhood in South Berkeley, along with my family and my fellow creatives in The Bay who stay supporting me through all of my phases and growing pains,” Mostafa said. “Gentrification has pushed most of my family out of The Bay at this point so I wanted to make something in commemoration of home that provokes the nostalgia I feel every time I drive down my grandma’s block.”
The challenge is also reminiscent to the famous Kanye West G.O.O.D Fridays where the music and fashion mogul released a plethora of records weekly alongside his A-List collaborators spawning major records like “Christian Dior Denim Flow”, “Chain Heavy”, “Christmas In Harlem” and more archival tracks that timestamped the era as one of the greatest moments in Hip Hop that epitomized a catharsis of epic track releases at a consecutive shot.
