Meet buzzing San Fernando Valley artist VaughnyxOcho

On the fringes on a blow up, San Fernando Valley’s VaughnyxOcho chops it up with us about his upcoming project, putting on for his hood, and more with Remixd Mag.

It’s about to be a hot summer in the 818.

Rapper VaughnyxOcho is declaring so, with his latest project Over The Hill slated for June 3rd being testament to this. Giving us a front row seat into the culture and happenings of the pre-dominant Mexican Los Angeles demograph, VaughnyxOcho sees his hometown as the next big thing.

“Right now I’m on the Rollout for my new project ‘Over the Hill’ which will be the introduction the 818 culture the right way,” he shares.

“Sonically and physically, giving a clear eye view and understanding what valley rap is and why it will be a market in California” the brazen wordsmith states.

Terming it as “Valley Rap,” VaughnyxOcho mirrors a stark awareness of himself and his surroundings. Cognizant of the popularity and historical hype placed on different Los Angeles areas such as Compton, South Central, Long Beach, just to name a few, Vaughny is adamant to put his city on the map.

“The Project is about the mentality of the people from the city of the San Fernando Valley and how we talk and think” he mentions.

“I hope they take away that it’s a lot of different places in California other then LA that has fire music different sounds with similar stories but different structures who still deal with human shit. And it’s not fabricated it’s a real story of a side not represented or spoken for” the avid rapper on the rise told us.

With the momentum building up for his second LP following 2018’s Dial 8, VaughnyxOcho has singles and visuals lined up to keep us warmed up. Stream his latest offering “Phil Jackson of the 818,” more musicX and cop some of his fire merch in the links below.
