Dom .B gets intimate on new EP ‘Relapse’

R&B singer Dom .B is giving the relationship cycle a new melody, showing love, heartbreak, and toxic behavior through a female trap lens on the new EP, Relapse.

Burlington, NJ singer Dom .B has grown tired of waiting. The powerful vocalist is ready to claim her piece of the pie in the burgeoning R&B genre and is now speaking up for listeners to hear her. After her April 2021 EP While It Lasted reintroduced her to the world and earned her accolades in the R&B circle, Dom has returned with a vengeance and more importantly, a new sound for her new single, Relapse, which is out now on all platforms.

Relapse is the third EP from Dom, and the project marks a new direction for the Burlington, NJ artist. On the new project, Dom takes us through the many stages of a relationship, from the beginning to the very end, when one might relapse into the same old toxic behavior. After working closely with producer Kidthegreat, Dom welcomed Kid’s production partner Kza K’Lee (Known together as Strangefruit) to help expand her sound to trap-styled R&B. The result is a classic tale of the ups and downs of love, beautifully curated to dark yet focused trap production and vocal musings of one of R&B’s rising young stars. After garnering some major looks with the lead single “Say Sum”, Dom sets up to establish herself as a fresh find in the packed female R&B division.

After a year of buildup and excitement to deliver a new look and sound, Relapse shapes up to be the perfect antidote for lovers optimistic, scornful, or just in need of a good soundtrack.

KETU shares debut EP ‘Ano-Ele’

KETU (@Ketuikediuba) has finally released his debut EP, Ano-Ele. The smooth operator is ready to establish himself as a new voice in the industry. His sound is reminiscent of Sampha, Frank Ocean, and GIVĒON. Every record sounds like he put everything he could into it. The Nigerian singer/songwriter only needed 15 minutes to capture the essence of his latest project. Tracks like “Supernova” & “2020” tell a story of heartbreak and fear. For most, love is a scary topic, and anyone who has loved someone will feel these lyrics in their heart. KETU battles with his feelings on each of the five spacey tracks.

Ano-Ele’s acapella lyrics could stand alone as a book of poetry. There is not one wasted line on the new EP. His singles, “Sky’s Falling/From The Start” & “Rain On Me,” undoubtedly highlight the highly soothing listening experience. Fans shouldn’t be surprised if they hear one of these five records sampled on one of their favorite rapper’s upcoming albums. KETU’s eye for design can be attributed to his work as a digital illustrator with multiple Fortune 500 companies like The NFL, Netflix, etc. There is no limit to where his artistry can go.

KETU has found a new haven in LA. The HE(A)RD/Guin Records artist is in a great position. The summer will be fruitful; with his team credited for multiple records on Kendrick Lamar’s latest album, the sky is the limit. KETU’s signature sound will lead him to become one of the most sought-after voices in the industry. Ano-Ele will be regarded highly in his discography.

Review: Sean Paul releases new album ‘Scorcha’ and performs it at the NOVO

After inspiring waistlines all of 2021 with his hit collaboration “Go Down Deh” and Grammy nominated album Live N Livin Sean Paul is back on the airwaves with Scorcha, a 16- song EP with features from Ty Dolla $ign, Pia Mia, Jada Kingdom, Sia, Gwen Steffani, Shenseea, Tove Lo, Stylo G, and Damian Marley.

The album dropped May 27 and that night Sean Paul took the stage at the Novo to perform the record for a sold out crowd, along with openers Jae Murphy and Yung Prince. Around 9:30 Sean took to the stage, flanked by a dancer on each side, his hype man and frequent collaborator Fahrenheit (aka Farenizzi) feeding on the energy of the crowd, to perform his popular dancehall hits like “Get Busy,”, “Temperature,”, and “I’m still in Love with You,”, as well as records from his new album such as; “Light My Fire”  featuring Shenseea and Gwen Stefani, and myriad of other nostalgia- inducing records.

The most notable aspect of the veteran Deejay’s live performance was his versatility. Sean Paul is a legend in both the dancehall and pop spaces, as well as a huge collaborator and influence in the Reggaeton space. In his live performance, Sean Paul masterfully switched between his different sounds and personas, complimenting Caribbean classics with Top 40 smashes and Reggaeton features. In a city with almost no notable Caribbean population, Sean Paul managed to bring out a diverse crowd and leave them satisfied, which may explain the international success of Dutty Paul. The 49 year old Deejay is a nine time nominated, Grammy award winning artist and has been creating hits and smashing barriers since 1994. Scorcha will be his 8th studio album, he boasts billboard number ones, songs with the biggest artist in almost every mainstream genre, and is arguably the most famous Jamaican artist since Bob Marley. Across decades Sean continues to be a shining star and an ambassador of Jamaican culture. The most interesting part being, instead of resting comfortably in his success – Sean seems dead set on continuing to elevate.

While Sean has completed his US leg of the Scorcha tour, with the NOVO being the second to last date, Sean is continuing to push the Scorcha project internationally, with upcoming shows in Canada, the UK, and European Union. Additionally Sean will be joining Pitbull and Iggy Azalea for Pittbulls “Can’t Stop Us Now” Tour in select cities this fall. Click HERE for more information regarding Sean’s upcoming tour dates.
