London label GFRé Music presents new single Hold Me Down featuring Nigerian collective BHP

The London-based label recruits international talent for its new single Hold Me Down.

The sounds were crafted by GFRé Music’sproducers in MadridSpain; members of the Nigerian collective BHPPresident Zik, Ross and Abyssinia came up with the vocals in Jos, Nigeria; and the track was finalized by Crys Garage, one of GFRé Music’s engineers, also based in Nigeria.

The result is a suave, intimate trapsoulballade that reminds of a 2000s boy band. The 3 smooth, carefully layered, voices blended with the sparkling sounds produced by Marvin Beats trigger R&B nostalgia.

Penned by the BHP gang, the track is an ode to the ride-or-dies, to that one love that holds us down.

Committed to championing emerging talent and creating a cross-cultural platform that spreads beyond the internet, GFRé Music, thehip-hop branch of London imprint Goldfangs Rosé Music, is slowly becoming a reliable source of fresh global sounds and dance music.

This past week, Swxm released his single “Swim” along with a visualizer featuring Grammy-nominated artist, Quavo of the legendary rap group, The Migos.

“The Quavo feature wasn’t planned at all,” says Swxm. “That was a result of just being ready at the right time. The whole situation could easily have never happened if I never went for it and just made the song,” he adds.

With a melodic voice and compelling verbal storytelling, the track delivers raw emotions and impactful lyricism that reminds listeners to keep pushing. When faced with a hard decision, Swxm challenges his audience to look within and ask: “Are you going to sink or swim?”

Further emphasizing the reality of life’s hardships and how time could quickly pass you by, Quavo further echoes the illusion of time in his verse stating “life going by fast, 200-hundred on the dash” delivering the perfect mixture of lyrics, along with his infamous ad-libs. “When people hear ‘Swim’ I want them to lose all the fear they have for themselves and to just jump in. Let your instincts take over and keep your head above water,” says Swxm

Bali Baby drops new ‘Blueprint’ album

MUAH! If you have yet to hear of Bali Baby, prepare to fall in love. Unapologetic, confident, beautiful, and talented are a few words to describe her, but don’t get it twisted. The Atlanta, Georgia native creates some of the most hard-hitting, turnt up, diverse records in the music industry, exploding onto the scene with her 2016 breakout smash “Designer.”

Now, Bali returns with her highly-anticipated new album titled BALIPRINT, just one day after her 25th birthday. Clocking in at 10 tracks deep, with an appearance from her crew The Playgirls on the closing track, the project is paired with a cover art depicting these labels in the factory building another Bali Baby, because she didn’t want to sell her soul!

Speaking on the inspo behind the title, Bali states, “So many of these rappers (MALE & FEMALE) came out literally taking the Bali blueprint, from style to flow and even down to the drip! So I had to drop a mixtape to show the kiddies how it’s done! :)”

Having spent 2 years out the game being a MILF (becoming a mother), Bali immediately returned back to the studio with a vengeance.

KETU debuts “Rain On Me” visual to pair with ‘Ano-Ele’ EP

Ketu is back with an intense new video for his heartwarming first single, “Rain On Me.” The soulful ballad is a standout track off his first EP, Ano-Ele. The visual for “Rain On Me” came on the heels of Juneteenth weekend and served as a cinematic reminder that visually Ketu is a step ahead of the pack. His team at The HE(A)RD/Guin Records knows how to break a star but, more importantly, how to find one. Ketu has made a career from his gift of digital illustration, but music has always been a passion. Although he is relatively new to making music, songs like “Rain On Me” prove he is built to last in the industry.

Ketu’s new video is a mini-movie. All of his visuals are a continuation of the previous ones. They are all connected to a certain extent. His classic blue BMW is shown prominently throughout the 3-minute short film. “Rain On Me” shows Ketu’s promise. It shows that he is a storyteller with his songs and visuals alike. The Guin Records R&B artist made waves with his cover of Pandora’s Indie R&B playlist. There is no limit to where he can go.
