Goldenboy Countup shares new single, “I’m Ready”

The prominent Central Florida rapper Goldenboy Countup has just shared his new single and video “Im Ready” via Simple Stupid Records/Geffen RecordsThe head-turning track features Goldenboy’s ceaseless flow and familiar cut-throat lyricism over an exhilarating trunk-popping instrumental. The video shows Goldenboy in the depths of his hometown of DeLand performing “Im Ready”, surrounded by his tight-knit crew and a sea of pickup trucks while sporting a savvy outfit. In just under 2 minutes, “Im Ready” highlights the exceptional craftsmanship and remarkable consistency of Florida’s freshest star, Goldenboy Countup.

Goldenboy Countup, a standout in the ultra-competitive Florida rap scene, has captured listeners with his kaleidoscope style by seamlessly combining the modern sounds of the Sunshine State with heart-pounding Detroit-style production––amounting to a swagger like none other. As noted by Pitchfork, “While Michigan rappers tend to blur the line between fact and fiction, Goldenboy Countup brings a realism to his rhymes that is distinct to Florida rap.” After years of grinding in the regional Florida scene, Goldenboy broke out in 2020 with “Top” and after receiving a pair of glowing co-signs from Money Man and Rod Wave, Goldenboy only capitalized on this homegrown momentum by continuing to drop successful singles. In 2021, Goldenboy started his Chicken Man mixtape serieswith the release of Chicken Man & Chicken Man 2––the title being a clever nod to his longstanding nickname and also released IDN2 and Coach Golden 2. Goldenboy kicked off 2022 with the notable release of his newest project Golden Ticket, featuring the standout tracks “Condo” (feat. Money Man) and “Heavy Motion” (feat. Bfb Da Packman).

Steelo Brim & Chuck Inglish team up for ‘D.Y.W.R’ music video

Today, multi-hyphenate artist Steelo Brim returns with the official music video for “D.Y.W.R” featuring The Cool Kids co-founder Chuck Inglish from his latest project, Eldorado Excursions. Directed by Steelo &  NoLoveOutWest, the visual features Steelo and Chuck sharing a nuanced story of the unwritten rules to pimping.

“D.Y.W.R” – an acronym that stands for “Do You Wanna Ride” – brings Steelo’s refined taste and laidback flow to the forefront of rap. The song itself feels like summer, finding both rappers trading bars about how to be a player over a piano-laden beat. From old-school lowriders to custom, silk garments, “D.Y.W.R” channels a free and easy tone that’s perfect for a late night cruise through the city.

Previously, Steelo released “Uncle Elroy” feat. Fabolous and Arin Ray (listen HERE/watch HERE) and “Actin’ Out” feat. NOMAD P (listen HERE/watch HERE). The Chicago-bred artist most recently dropped his aforementioned full-length album, which includes features from Fabolous, Buddy, Arin Ray, BJTheChicagoKid, Chuck Inglish, Dej Loaf, Leon Thomas, Vic Mensa, Problem, Nomad P and more.
