JAY-Z confirmed as featured artist on DJ Khaled’s upcoming album ‘God Did’

Super-producer DJ Khaled is gearing up to release his 13th studio album God Did, which will feature music mogul JAY-Z, Khaled confirmed.

“HOV DID!!! HOV VOCALS IS IN! WOW,” Khaled wrote in the caption of his Instagram post. “WOW .. #HOVDID #GODDID ALBUM COMING SOON !!!!!! @wethebestmusic @rocnation @kodaklens @youngguru763 !!!!!!!!!! HOV LOVE FOREVER BROTHER !!!!!!!!WOW! PLEASE SWIPE ! SO YOU KNOW !!!!!!!!”

The caption was accompanied by several pictures, the first one being JAY-Z sitting at a table with his face covered by his fitted cap and arms folded.

Khaled was also sure to post his mind-blown and ecstatic reaction upon hearing JAY-Z’s verse, along with a screenshot of himself on FaceTime with engineer Young Guru and Roc Nation executive/photographer Lenny “Kodak Lens” Santiago, all equally as blown away.

Yung Guru upped the anticipation for the verse even more with him tweeting “HOV is the greatest of all time. This can’t be debated anymore!!!”

Santiago shared his excitement as well via an Instagram post using the same picture of HOV at Jungle City Studios in New York City as Khaled did.

“If you’re a real Artist you know exactly where this is and you know exactly what’s happening,” he wrote in the caption. “@djkhaled @youngguru763 The BEST to ever do this shit!!!!”

Khaled had already teased that JAY-Z may be part of the album, back in May in an Instagram post where he showed himself playing the album for the NYC native.

JAY-Z and Khaled have collaborated multiple times over the years, with Hov offering up verses on each of his albums since 2015. Some songs of note are  “Top Off,” “I Got The Keys,” and last year’s “Sorry Not Sorry” which also featured Nas and James Fauntleroy.

While anytime JAY-Z decides to bless fans with new music is cause for celebration, he is just one of many big names set to appear on God Did. DJ Khaled had also announced an upcoming single with Drake and Lil Baby titled “Staying Alive” debuting Friday.

Other God Did collaborations that have been teased include Future, 21 Savage, Lil Durk, Gunna, Quavo and more.

Chris Brown defends viral VIP meet-and-greet packages

Singer Chris Brown is in full swing of his collaborative “One of Them Ones Tour” with rapper Lil Baby. A hot topic on social media since the tour’s start has been about Breezy’s VIP meet-and-greet packages allegedly costing concert-goers $1,000.

The meet-and-greets on tour stops have also gained virality on the internet due to the types of photos that he has been taking with fans who purchase the package.

Chris recently took to his Instagram story to explain exactly why he is choosing to take such notable photos with his fans.

“PSA!!! When [artists] (everyone) do concerts, they all have something called a VIP package. I haven’t done meet and greets in over [seven] years…  I have the coolest fans on the planet .. I appreciate the fuck outta them. These are memories that will last with them forever,” said the singer.

Brown went on to say how he will continue to go all out for his fans and give them a memorable experience, since there would be no him without them.

Fellow artist and tour guest performer, Bleu, took to social media as well in defense of Chris. “1000$ for a life long memory/moment ain’t bad. Y’all ain’t gone have no memories when y’all get old only thing y’all gone remember is paying bills,” he said in a tweet.

The “No Guidance” singer has recently released his 11th solo studio album, Breezy, but was not afraid to admit how nervous he still seems to get before performing.

“I still get nervous. I’m anxious about it, I have sleepless nights. I’m thinking of ideas, he said during an appearance on Big Boy. “Because it’s the excitement, it’s adrenaline, it’s like a give and take. If you don’t understand that… you know energy, you can feel energy.”

He also added, “Like, when I get in work mode or thinking about it, I’m also just putting it in my mind, ‘How are the fans gonna perceive this?’ And say, ‘You know what, I didn’t waste my money coming to this muthafucka. I actually had a good time,’ you know what I’m saying? So there’s a lot that goes into that. I just don’t plot it out and say, ‘Look, we have to do this.’ But it’s something internally that I work on.”

Bootleg Kev rallies behind Wiz Khalifa amidst DJ outburst at Poppy in LA

Rapper Wiz Khalifa cannot catch a break. The Pittsburgh icon has been trending since an altercation during his album listening party at Poppy Night Club, Los Angeles ensued on Sunday night. The Taylor Gang boss got into a tiff with DJs Mike Danger & MC Tron for “not playing his new music” at the rapper’s event.

In a video posted by No Jumper, Wiz can be seen hurling insults at the DJ’s, including labeling them “horrible DJs”. Things spiraled uncontrollably with Wiz even offering to fight them in the now viral clips doing rounds online. Despite Wiz getting backlash from the DJ community from the likes of DJ Kid Capri, his friend and fellow DJ-broadcaster Bootleg Kev has jumped to his support to rescue his friend from all the online hate the rapper has been stomaching since the incident.

“Let’s clear up this Wiz s–t,” he began. “I was there with him, & the DJ & host TERRIBLE. After f–king up his performance (4-5x) he finally snapped. I’m not condoning him slapping the hat off or none of that, and I know he regrets that. But so much led up to that point.

“Context is IMPORTANT. After they abruptly cut the first record off & had some weird echo effect shit going on he stopped and was NICE. In this video he’s saying ‘let’s get on the same page, y’all got too many cooks in the kitchen.’

Bootleg Kev has maintained the DJ’s continuously cut off Wiz Khalifa’s songs mid-performance and interrupted him a number of times.

“That was after fuck up #1,” he explained. “They proceeded to cut his records outta nowhere, get on the mic while he’s performing (SEE THE VIDEO BELOW, which was after they CUT OFF BLACK AND YELLOW 30 seconds in and restarted it- notice wiz telling the Host ‘don’t say nothing, it’s my time’).

“After the 4th time of botching a BREEZE OF A JOB IF YOU’RE A DJ Wiz lost it. The set list was emailed before hand, download it, press play and get the fuck out the way.”

Bootleg Kev believes DJ Mike Danger simply had a bad night, but called out the host for ruining the show.

“Mike Danger is a good DJ and from what I hear a great guy, he had an off night,” he said. “The HOST tho? Was so outta pocket it was flagrant. Reaching over his dj, turning down faders etc. overall shit show. THATS WHAT HAPPENED.”

Bootleg Kev went on to say it felt like Wiz Khalifa was being pranked with the amount of things that were going wrong.

“Myself & @RealTaylorGang couldn’t believe how bad that shit was going,” he admitted. “It really felt like an episode of Punk’d y’all. Learning experience for everyone, y’all will hear from Wiz soon I’m sure. But be clear that shit didn’t just happen outta no where. It escalated to that!

“Let’s be clear, what should have happened was after the 2nd or 3rd fuck up he drops the mic and stops performing. What happened wasn’t cool! That’s a fact. Nobody is disputing that. Now back to my night.”

Wiz Khalifa has faced criticism from members of the DJ community, including DJ Capri, who revealed he was “surprised” by the way the DJs were treated.

“It be stuff like this that minimizes what the DJ is,” Capri said. “I don’t know if you was lit or drunk, or whatever the case may be, but if that was me and you spoke to me like that, I’d have swung on you right away. Immediately. And we would have dealt with it however we’d have to deal with afterwards. But I wouldn’t have went for that.”

“I’ve always prided myself on my transparency in tow with sharing every part of my life & myself with my family, friends & my fans… the past two weeks have been a nightmare for me,” he continued. “I have witnessed disloyalty on levels unimaginable by people I’ve trusted with my heart, money, career & livelihood. Not only have I been backstabbed & betrayed.. I’ve been left to pick up the pieces alone.”

“I’m in no way shape or form angry with anyone for choosing to act in the manner they have as of recent & send love & well wishes from this day forward as there is no hate, malice or vengefulness in my heart.”

He went on to explain he was nursing physical injuries and required medical attention.

“On top of that, I’ve been in therapy for 2 weeks for my back for inflamed muscles & a bruised tailbone from over working out. I also had an accident last night n cut my finger to the bone & had to receive 6 stitches”

The date is AUGUST 12TH 2022 & I promise you it will not change or move. I’ve given everything that I am to this album & I guarantee GREATNESS.”

He would further urge fans to stay safe, and thank them for their unwavering loyalty. In the same post, he revealed the break was incentivized by his mental health.

“This break is for my MENTAL HEALTH & to afford myself the capacity to complete my album in full & stay committed to my release date. I thank everyone for supporting my most recent freestyle & all who have supported me throughout my career. Stay safe, Covid & Monkey Pox free… & just know…Life is short so LOVE on who LOVES YOU !! – The Game”

Shenseea courts Skillibeng for “Rain” anthem

In line with keeping her purple patch going, Jamaican dancehall sensation Shenseea recruits fellow Jamaican Skillibeng for her latest single – “Rain”.

Produced by Atlanta’s ATL Jacob who is equally having a year to remember, Shenseea shows her musical versatility on the bite-sized trap record.

Juggling some elements of the tough sound the latter, Skillibeng, has come to be revered for, the track pairs two of the most sought after artists from the 876, and a producer at the helm of his game.

Shenseea has marveled throughout the year with her album ALPHA topping charts effortlessly, while Skillibeng has been accustomed to popular hit songs with cuts such as “Whap Whap” ringing throughout. Jacob on the other hand has had a hand in some of the year’s tracks of the year contenders, lending his production particularly on Future’s highly touted opus I Never Liked You on numbers such as “WAIT FOR U”, “KEEP IT BURNIN”, “LOVE YOU BETTER”, “FOR A NUT”, and Kodak Black’s ominously jerked standout, “Super Gremlin”.

Shenseea is fresh off her European tour performing at Wireless Festival in the UK, Afro Nation & Rolling Loud in Portugal just to name a few. Skillibeng meanwhile has been spotted in studio with gargantuan acts such as DJ Khaled & Wizkid as he prepares to release his much anticipated album, Mr. Universe, later in the year.

Heartbreaka drops off “Too Much Drank” visual ft. Pacman Da Gunman

San Diego’s own Heartbreaka is back with a brand new video featuring Pacman Da Gunman titled “Too Much Drank”. The Quicho Films directed video takes place in a surveillance room where Heart and Pac both scope out scenes and make sure everything is kosher around them before stepping out in these streets. With Heartbreaka’s album “Beyond Repair” releasing last week, he’s providing us with the visual to perhaps his most upbeat and fun track on the project. The production by Matt Brick$ was the perfect alley-oop for Heart’s crooning and Pacman’s slick lyrics combined with multiple flow switches creating a masterpiece of a record.

San Diego heartthrob Heartbreaka is one of the most viewed Southern California artists of the past few years with over 180k YouTube subscribers and millions of views to his name, it’s only a matter of time before he’s embraced by the mainstream media. His new project “Beyond Repair” is a masterclass in R&B singing, songwriting and the true essence of what the genre is intended for. Songs like “I Just Wanna Love You”, “Blame”, “Lori’s Interlude” and “Miss Me” prove he belongs in the elite class of current R&B stars such as Bryson Tiller, Lucky Daye, Giveon and Brent Faiyaz. It’s only a matter of time before his cult like fan base opens up and helps cultivate his superstardom. Although the project leans R&B, it’s also filled with uptempo bangers ready for the club or a house party to set the vibes such as “Running Through”, “Señorita”, “Too Much Drank”. With much more room to grow as an artist and time to heal as a person, “Beyond Repair” is just the fix of R&B you didn’t know you needed.
