And this project shows how many lanes I have on my highway – it has a fast lane, a slow lane, and a few lanes in between.”

The 7-track project truly embodies what Kartier brings to the table From versatility to serving up bars living up to influences like Larry June, Jay Worthy, Isley Brothers Kartier does an excellent job at providing uniqueness.

Romiin rises above on his latest single “Higher”

New Zealand stand up! Fast rising emoter Romiin has dropped off his latest single “Higher”.

A velvet transcendent cut, the track features glossy keys, a shy baseline, and easing riffs that grant his saccharine vocal prowess to shine on the track.

“The song is called Higher and I wrote it at a time where I experienced probably the worst burnout I’ve had (so far). I was juggling my 9 to 5, family and relationship troubles, and anxieties about the future on top of trying to consistently create” he mentions.

Almost a sunny and summery number custom for a nice top-down drive to a beach with your Raebans on, Romiin excels in his articulation of freeing your mind from worries – something visualized by the song’s artwork where a coastline is seen with an evening tide – almost symbolic of the water washing away your problems.

“I thought I could do it all with no break or outlet to express my bottled emotions and it took its toll on me” he continues.

“As a result, I crashed and burned. They say hindsight is 20/20, so after a few months have passed, I reflected on what happened and what I could’ve done differently. My conclusions from this is what you hear in the song. At the end of the day, we’re all just doing our best. Once that clicked, everything slowly started falling into place and I can now see and handle things differently”

Produced, mixed and mastered by Edy On The Beat, the single further stamps the two creatives’ elaborate chemistry on track together as they bring out each other’s qualities unequivocally.

Additional elements such as strings were added by producer Astro, who was recently involved in pop star Chris Brown’s single “It’s Giving Christmas”.

Pushing P for positive vibes on “Higher”, Romiin is a contemporary R&B act to watch out for. His diversity and ability to play around different styles of R&B – from the intimacy exuded on single

“Back For It” to the freeness and mindfulness expressed on “Higher”, his range on the spectrum of emotions is amazing.

Rightfully deserved a place on your radar as he quips to still having more to offer in his locker, and is adept to experimenting and broadening his soundscape.

“At its core, my sound consists of smooth, velvet tones that naturally echoes the sounds of artists like Mac Ayres, Arin Ray, and RINI” he assures. “These vibes are evident in my catalog so far but I’m not one to put myself in a box – expect some surprises as I roll out my new, more experimental stuff next year onwards.”

He shares some of his muses are the likes of Usher, Brian McKnight, Maxwell, D’Angelo, and Music Soulchild to mention a few.

Doodie Lo guarantees violence in “ISTG PT. 2 (feat. Kodak Black)”

Doodie Lo keeps a small circle around, and with good reason. He voices how quickly a comrade can switch up in his Kodak Black-featured record, “ISTG, PT 2.”

Matching the energy of the spine-chilling trap beat, the OTF signee promises his foes will pay for their malevolence.

Driving his wordplay with aggression, Doodie Lo spits mid-chorus,

I swear to God, I don’t feel them n—s/I swear to God if I see ’em up in traffic, I’m a kill them n—s/I swear to God, got a switch on me, he ain’t ride, he ain’t slide, he ain’t no m———in’ big homie.”

Subtly warning others to trust no one, the Kankakee, IL-bred adds that the smack talkers will be silenced. He assures them that they’ll truly eat their words.

I swear to God, watch that backdoor, better keep your gun on you/Tell me that you love me, sh-t/I act slow/Why they playin’ with us?/We want headshots,” he spits.

Subsequently, Doodie Lo also drops

All that talking tough on the ‘net, now you dead now/You better not get on the side of this vet/You get fanned down.”

Kodak Black also displays how he’s a man of his word. Laughing at his hater’s sad attempts of being “tough,” the “Super Gremlin” hitmaker assures he’s serious about deading them.

You ain’t gon’ see us comin’, we got flashbangs, I’m tryna blind you,” he raps in his signature cadence. “It’s all good ’til it’s all bad/That n—a all cap, can’t wait to get up with his soft a–.”

Following this, Kodak Black agrees to have an exchange of blows with the perpetrator.

I swear to god I got thirty men/I swear to god I’m outside, wide open, like come and get it.”

On Friday, Doodie Lo shared the video for “ISTG, Pt. 2 (feat. Kodak Black).” The video garnered 406K views over the weekend. In it, Doodie Lo and Kodak Black reap the benefits of their success by flying private-style with their day ones.

Virginia State University alumna China Lovelace to host new ‘Shade Room’ spin-off radio show

The Shade Room’s Alisha Sellers, professionally known as China Lovelace, is expanding her role at the media company. China will host a new Shade Room spin-off radio-based show, The Shade Room Live Radio on Amp (TSR Live Radio), alongside co-host La’Janeé, in a new partnership with Amazon. China, a California native, has over ten years of experience in the entertainment industry.

The Shade Room (TSR) is a social media-based platform that offers celebrity and trending news to more than 27 million followers. TSR Live Radio will feature guests on video in a studio setting. The 1-hour format show will have a weekly round-up of celebrity guests, discuss current events, and more. China says she hopes she can be an inspiration to other HBCU students.

“It’s exciting to have an opportunity to represent VSU on a national stage,” China says. “All HBCU students have the ability to grow individuals into successful citizens, and I believe this opportunity will allow me to show more youth that they can be in my shoes.”

China is a 2012 Historically Black College University (HBCU) graduate of Virginia State University (VSU).

The popular Instagram user boasting nearly 60,000 followers started her radio career at VSU’s 91.3 WVST.
“Working in radio will always be my first love, as it was my first introduction to the entertainment industry. Without the skill set that I learned at WVST and the time spent at VSU, I wouldn’t be where I am in my career today,” said China.

During the inaugural show on December 6, China and her cohost welcomed rapper and reality star Akbar V. The “Queen of Atlanta” opened up about motherhood, escaping social media drama, and being featured on the remix of a chart-topping Nicki Minaj single.
“We plan to feature more celebrity guests during TSR Live Radio, where they’ll have an opportunity to express themselves in a more personable way which isn’t always available to them on our Instagram channel,” said China. “This platform will also allow me an outlet to interact with our followers in a different way, and I’m thankful to The Shade Room for the opportunity.”

China plans to continue shining a light on Bay Area culture and HBCUs. She wants to remind listeners how pivotal HBCUs are to the culture. Catch China live on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. eastern on The Shade Room Live Radio by downloading the Amp mobile application.

Swifty Blue drops off latest track “Stuck In My Ways” ft. Moneysign Suede

Swifty Blue won’t stop. With an incredibly productive 2022 under his belt, and as the majority of the artists have begun winding down, Swifty is speeding up. Today, he’s back with a brand new single featuring frequent collaborator Moneysign Suede titled “Stuck In My Ways” produced by BankRoll Danny. Their natural chemistry comes from growing up in neighboring cities in Southeast Los Angeles, but their contrasting styles musically makes for a perfect blend on tracks. Suede executes an incredible chorus about being stubborn following it up with a memorable verse about his hard-headedness. Swifty however, comes out shooting with threats and warnings to any opposing factors in his way.

This is the duos first collaboration since their “Grimey Park” EP they released earlier this year along with fellow Southeast LA rapper Peysoh. Expect a part two to that project in the next calendar year.

Diddy taps PARTYNEXTDOOR for raunchy new single “Sex In The Porsche”

Diddy dropped off his latest single, the infectious “Sex In The Porsche,” with OVO Sound’s own PARTYNEXTDOOR. Showcasing the music mogul’s evolution and signature style, the release comes after yesterday’s (Dec. 13) surprise announcement on social media.

As expected, Diddy had his hand in every part of the new track — he co-wrote the sexy song with PND, and the Bad Boy icon also co-produced alongside Nyan.

“I invented champagne, makin’ love in the rain (Come on)/No way out, this might be the last train (Let’s go)/Showed her s**t she never could see/She think she dreamin’, I had to tell her to breathe,” Diddy rapped.

His latest offering follows the June release “Gotta Move On” featuring Bryson Tiller, which marked Diddy’s 11th No. 1 hit. An irresistible track, “Gotta Move On” is centered around the realization that a relationship has met its unfortunate end:

“I triеd, I tried to give it all to you, baby, brand new Mercedes, a newborn baby, yeah, and I told you, ‘Your love too lazy,’ damn, all you had to do was love me, baby… You found a new man, so I gotta move on, guess you got a new agenda with someone you barely know, I won’t, said you’re wrong, guess you had to move on…”

“Sex In The Porsche” is the second official drop from Diddy’s LOVE RECORDS imprint, which was launched back in May in partnership with Motown Records. At that time, the superstar spoke on his reasoning for said venture:

“Music has always been my first love; LOVE RECORDS is about getting back to the love and making the best music of my life. For the label, I’m focused on creating timeless R&B music with the next generation of artists and producers. Motown is the perfect partner for my album and I’m excited to add to its legacy.”

If you’ve been enjoying the living legend’s resurgence in R&B, you’re in luck, as fans can look forward to a full project dropping early next year. For now, press play on “Sex In The Porsche” below.
