ATL’s Skuffle raises the bar on new LP, ‘Rubberband Skuff’

ATL’s Skuffle (@skuffle_) is back with a complete project jam-packed with hard-hitting production and gritty bars. The Georgia-bred MC grew up in a single-parent home and is no stranger to obstacles. After spending time in prison, he has progressed to making it out and creating the music that he hopes changes his whole family’s life. 

Drawing inspiration from the streets and his family, Skuffle is motivated to make it to the rap game’s top. His ear for production is helping him secure a fast-growing fan base in the ATL region. His latest LP is ten fire tracks with only one feature throughout the album. Visuals for singles like “Captain” and “50 Face Skuff” are still gaining some traction on YouTube. Rubberband Skuff is a solid statement to start Black History Month. He’s putting on for all the street rap legends before him.

Goldenboy Countup to release Love Golden 2 EP & visual for “Forever” (feat. Loe Shimmy)

Goldenboy Countup has a new single called “Forever.” It is a smooth, sultry track where he waxes poetic with a no-frills flow alongside Loe Shimmy, the tuneful Pompano Beach rapper directly linked to Baltimore Ravens Quarterback Lamar Jackson and co-signed by Kodak Black. On release date (2/14), Golden will be dropping “Bait” featuring Tallahassee rapper Luh Tyler, who was recently described by Pitchfork as “the Coolest 16-Year-Old Rapper in America”.

Based in San Diego, Ca – Angelisha Joseph staged as Ainjo (@therealainjo) is an artist you need to add to your playlists.

A hybrid of neo-soul and R&B, a dulcet vocal appeal, and a dichotomous vibe of sweet and ratchet, she is the full package. Ainjo is definitely someone to be on the lookout for this year.

Henceforth, her single “No Drama” is a happy go-lucky anthem that sees her smitten and caught in a love spell so enchanting. It’s catchy, fun, and easy to love.

“I am in a very happy healthy relationship and I just wanted to express that” she says. Her man even cameos in the summery music video shot in the West Coast.

Philly artist Theo Major looks to enhance the genre of R&B by introducing more upbeat energy with ‘SUPA’

Theo Major (formerly known as Derrick Ju’Wan) just released his debut single “SUPA” featuring Shawn Smith assisted with a music video. The song will serve as the first single from his upcoming EP, Pastel Soul.

Prior to the name change, Major was using music as a form of therapy and was creating dark and moody tracks. He decided to quit music when he noticed he wasn’t having fun, but came to the conclusion later that he wasn’t being true to himself thus not liking the music he was creating.

The Philly artist now aims to blend various genres such as R&B, pop, house, and hip-hop to create a new sound and has formed a new identity. The name Theo Major is an ode to Philly legend Teddy Pendergrass and Static Major.

On February 2nd, 2023 he unleashed his latest release “SUPA” featuring Shawn Smith. Smith is a respected Philadelphia artist who also went through a transitional period as an artist. The single is based on a true story of when he lost his college girlfriend to another man because Major took her for granted.

“SUPA” is an introduction. An introduction to Pastel Soul, an EP that will be vibrant and uptempo of Major’s creative expression. An introduction of his fresh take on the genre of R&B/Soul and an introduction to Theo Major- the unconventional artist.

Major pulls inspiration from various artists including Andre 3000, T-Pain, Sade, Ryan Leslie, Childish Gambino, Kaytranda, Smino, Lucky Daye, and Channel Tres.

Theo Major is an ambitious artist who looks to accomplish several goals such as scoring music for a film, producing TV series and films, and opening a theatre company and school in Philly.

Major has seen great success in his music career so far, he has had the opportunity to open for national acts such as Masego, Kota the Friend, and ELHAE.

Theo Major will be continuing his journey to introduce a new sound with upcoming singles ahead of his forthcoming EP release.
