92 Byu is gearing up for an impactful year

92 byu

Rising artist 92 Byu is keeping the momentum going. 2023 has been off to a great start for the artist. Based in Sumter South Carolina, 92 Byu is one of the hottest voices coming out of the city.

92 Byu is fresh off the release of his track “B.I.N.G.O.” which dropped with accompanying music video. Now, he makes his return with a brand new single called, “Love Me or Not.” It definitely sets the tone for what to expect this time around and he’s been working and it shows.

92 Byu, who is ½ of the duo 9INE11, is pursuing a solo endeavor this time around and making his debut as a solo artist with this record. He’s showing off his talents to new heights and while the sound of the music is true to what he’s been doing within the group, the new music is refreshing as 92Byu explores a lane of his own rising out of South Carolina.

As far as what he wants audiences to take away from his music, he ultimately wants listeners to know that people’s outside opinions do not matter.

“Why care about the thoughts of others?” 92 Byu says. “Do whatever you have to … whatever it takes, for however long it takes, to get in the position of life you want to be in. Just get there, just get it done and when you get positioned, just remember it was all worth it because you only have one life to live. Life itself is beautiful, it’s meant to be enjoyed.”

tay tuned for more content on the way from 92 Byu, but in the meantime, check out “Love Me or Not,” below.

Ian Michael keeps the roof blazing with “Make It Hot”

Ian Michael

Ian Michael‘s newest record, “Make It Hot” is sure to receive a trail of fire emojis after the first listen.

Comprising an infectious energy, the three-minute West Coast offering finds Ian Michael living la vida loca on an evening when he feels the most vivacious.

While attending a party that night, he sees a beauty that locks eyes with him on the dance floor. Off the bat, the artist stirs emotions through his intricate storytelling. While using a magnetic vocality, Ian Michael elaborates on what seems to be a love story unfolding. No matter what stands in their way, the artist vows to go the distance.

The rest of “Make It Hot” highlights Ian Michael’s ability to combat all the negativity with a can-do attitude. But, at the same time, this fun-spirited tune adheres to his impeccable artistry.

“I’m simply telling the audience I’m here planning to make everything I do hot, fresh, and fun. This dance track also shouts out the two labels that inspired Carimata to start, Bad Boy and Motown,” Ian Michael continues.

Remixd Magazine had an opportunity to interview Ian Michael about his overall artistry while getting a deeper understanding of his new record. Keep reading below to know more:

What is your pseudonym? What is your real name?

My artist name is Ian Michael. My real name is Ian Michael Spruce. I chose Ian Michael because it means “gift from God who is like God.”

How would you describe your sound to readers who may not be familiar with you?

It has a new school R&B style with a hip-hop approach. Moreover, my sound resonates with R&B records from the 90s. It also has 808s and flows that resemble new school hip-hop. Ultimately, my discography has songs that are meant to make you dance.

What’s one reason you are passionate about music, and what inspires you?

Over the past year, I developed a newfound love for music. However, I stepped away from the music industry during my short hiatus. As time passed, I realized I could not escape my recording equipment. I still loved to record and hear the songs I made.

The reason for taking a second chance at a music career is that I love the music I make and want to create records that help individuals stay motivated on the path to success.

Lastly, I saw a need in the R&B scene. R&B isn’t dead as people say it is. Several notable artists are streaming very well, but I have noticed the dancing culture is missing from R&B. I’m inspired by Bad Boy, Motown, Carimata Records, and other black labels. I want to revitalize R&B music and bring it back to the clubs and parties.

Who are some of your main musical influences?

Drake, Diddy, Michael Jackson, Jermaine Dupri, and Jay Z.

Tell us the name of the project you are currently promoting. What inspired this project?

“Make it Hot.” My third project, In Due Season, drops later this year.

What’s next for you? Are you working on any upcoming projects we should be on the lookout for?

“Payday” will debut on March 16th. Also, keep an eye out for In Due Season later this year. Additionally, I drop a song on Soundcloud every Friday.

What message do you hope fans take away from your music and from this project?

Stay motivated. It’s possible. God is with you, and He loves you no matter what you’ve been through, are going through, or going to go through.
