Usher’s freshest release of 2023 features a collaboration with 21 Savage and Summer Walker on the track titled “Good Good.” The song, produced by Mel & Mus, comes right after Usher’s solo hit “Glu.” Accompanied by a captivating visualizer, the video includes glimpses of the viral Keke Palmer clip that sparked widespread discussion across various blogs.

NBA YoungBoy – “Forever Party [Say Yes to Heaven Remix]”

Over an alternative rock cut, NBA YoungBoy expresses how much his better half means to him in “Forever Party.” While using a melodic delivery, YB describes his time with her as a forever party. In the two-and-a-half-minute record, the rapper also states how he plans to keep a smile on her face. All NBA YoungBoy asks for is honesty and loyalty. “Girl, you know I need you/Please don’t tell me lies,” NBA YoungBoy declares. 

Saweetie – “Shot O’ Clock”

Interpolating Suzanne Vega’s “DNA,” Saweetie’s new party hit encourages listeners to throw back some drinks and let loose. The London on Da Track-produced record also radiates confidence and contains lyrics that help others feel themselves. “Tonight we gettin’ white girl wasted, ayy/Clique full off baddies, no basics, ayy/This gon’ be an icy girl favorite, ayy/Shots got me leanin’ like The Matrix,” she delivers. Saweetie’s latest song comes on the heels of her, Tyga, and YG’s “Birthday.” 

Halle – “Angel”

Halle makes her debut as a solo artist with her heart-stirring single, “Angel.” Over the melancholic piano keys and subtle bassline, Halle sings about embracing the skin you’re in. “Angel” moreso praises the attributes that Black women possess. “Rich blood, you can probably see the gold in my skin,” she sings. “I’m more than a girl, won’t let the troubles of the world/Come weigh me down.” Halle’s record also serves as a pick-me-up for people facing hard times. Through powerhouse vocals that are prone to give listeners goosebumps, Halle expresses, “But Heaven knows, Heaven knows/Your wings can’t weigh you down.” 

Lil Skies – “Wake Up”

Lil Skies’ playful trap offering, “Wake Up,” encourages others to work around the clock. The song also attests to the rapper’s tenacity and ability to hurdle obstacles that were meant to hold him back. In other words, “Wake Up” moves people to stay on their grind and remain a go-getter. The nearly three-minute record has some tough talk and braggadocious bars as well. “Well I just kept it 100, I need a hunnid mil’/Not worrying ’bout you people I’m not caring how you feel,” he raps along with, “I been grinding, try get my cake up, can’t take no pay cuts.”

Alex Mali – “Dance Now Cry Later”

Alex Mali’s house-driven cut, “Dance Now Cry Later,” is letting go of today’s worries. As the Brooklyn native sings about living in the now and forgetting past troubles, listeners are encouraged to let their hair down. In the songstress’s case, she’s escaping the pressures of having the answers for a situation she needs more time to think about. A suitor who wasn’t ready to settle down is now asking Alex Mali for a relationship. “How dare you throw this in my hands, sir?/You can’t just walk into this chapter/All of a sudden you’re feelings so strong? (Ooh),” she sings. 

K Johns – One Of Them Ones (EP)

K Johns’ One Of Them Ones is a nine-track offering that showcases the rapper’s undeniable pen game and versatility. The records on One Of Them Ones attest to K Johns’ prolificness, authenticity, and ability to push through the pain. “It feels good to be in the space I’m in at the moment,” the rapper says. “I feel overly creative and at my current peak. It will sound cliché, but the music I’m making right now is my best work thus far because it is an obvious reflection of the work I’ve been putting in.” One Of Them Ones contains K Johns’ confident driven record, “Do Better.”
