Interview: Big Trip is the latest hip-hop sensation from New York City who’s here to inspire you

Big Trip

Big Trip (@iambigtrip), the up-and-coming hip-hop sensation, has a story that’s as diverse as the city he comes from. Born and raised in an Italian-American family rooted in Portchester, NY, Big Trip’s journey from the bustling streets of NYC to his current crib in Tennessee is quite the rollercoaster ride.

“I grew up all around New York, lived in 12 different cities before I graduated high school,” Big Trip tells Remixd Magazine in an exclusive interview. “I got a taste of suburban New York life, spent a good chunk of time in Yonkers, the Bronx… I even crowned myself the king of Westchester County—well, sort of!”

But Big Trip isn’t just about music; he’s got an athletic side too. At one point, he was ranked as the number 3 baseball recruit. His early days were all about exploring different avenues of life. However, destiny had a different game plan.

Big Trip’s latest track, “Just Being Honest,” has made waves with listeners. It’s what you might call experimental and showcases Big Trip’s willingness to push boundaries. “One of my producers dropped a funky beat, and I thought, ‘Let’s challenge myself on this one.’ People seem to dig the hook,” he tells us.

This hard-hitting track is a testament to his authentic style. “I make music for the hustlers, the grinders,” Big Trip says with passion. “I’m a hard worker myself, and my main motivation is to uplift people. Let’s get the job done despite whatever’s going on around us. Even when life hits you hard, that’s when you make the most progress. I’m like the Rocky Balboa of hip-hop—here to get you going and inspire you.”

Big Trip’s music is all about big, powerful sounds and instruments, designed to pump you up and inspire you. “If you’re going through a tough time,” he adds, “I want my story to resonate with you. It’s not just for the guys; it’s for the ladies too.”

His journey to musical stardom hasn’t been a walk in the park. After leaving the baseball team, Big Trip found himself in a coma, a potentially career-ending ordeal. But he emerged from that experience with an unshakeable determination to pursue his passion for music.

“My goal is to be one of the most recognizable faces in music,” he shares. “And not just for my musical talent. I even want to run three marathons by the end of the year. You can achieve anything in life. Right now, it’s all about growing my music and focusing on my art. I want to keep getting better at what I do.”

In the last six months, Big Trip has been on a mission to perform bigger and better shows, steadily building his presence in the music scene. Beyond the music, he aspires to be a positive influence in his community, believing that music is all about spreading good vibes and getting people to dance and groove.

Big Trip’s journey continues, marked by resilience, authenticity, and an unwavering commitment to his craft. Keep an eye out for this hard-hitting hip-hop sensation as he climbs the ranks of the music industry, one powerful verse at a time.
