Beyonce

In true Beyoncé fashion, the Queen has taken to her social media account to announce that the entire Renaissance world tour will be heading to theaters on Friday, December 1st. Beyoncé literally just concluded her last show on the tour last night in Kansas City, Missouri. We were all expecting this news, but who knew the Queen herself would deliver it this soon!

In the preview, the clip begins with Beyoncé speaking, “When I am performing, I am nothing but free. The goal for this tour was to create a place where everyone is free, and no one is judged. Start over, start fresh, create the new. That’s what the Renaissance is about.” The film will include the opening show in Stockholm, Sweden, and will take us all the way to her last show in the US in Kansas City, Missouri. According to Variety, the superstar has already opened up pre-sale tickets at theaters, including AMC, Regal, and Cinemark. In the Instagram post where she teases fans with a quick trailer, she captioned it, “Be careful what you ask for because I just might comply,” which are lyrics from her hit single “All Up in Your Mind.” In the trailer, you will also get a behind-the-scenes look, witnessing Blue Ivy preparing to hit the stage with her mother.

If you are a true Beyhive fan, you were most likely already eagerly anticipating Beyoncé’s announcement about the film. It’s in true Beyoncé fashion to come through with the visuals! This tour is not only something we will be telling our grandkids about, but it is also a moment that will be etched in our minds, rent-free, watching Blue Ivy Carter join her mom on stage and perfect the choreography. The last time we witnessed such greatness was when Netflix released her visual of Coachella in 2018!

YoungBoy Never Broke Again drops new single + video “Testimony”

Grammy-nominated rapper YoungBoy Never Broke Again has made a name for himself by playing the game on his own terms. Continuing to play by his own rules, he surprised everyone by spontaneously sharing a new music video for “Testimony.”

Less is More

In this three-minute video, YoungBoy reminds everyone how resourceful he can be during tough times. With him currently being on house arrest, you can’t even tell that this entire video was filmed at his home. The supporting visuals were meticulously shot to add a layer of vulnerability. More importantly, it shows that he is someone who is more than meets the eye.

Throughout the video, we witness YoungBoy adapting to the cards that life dealt him & making the most out of it. Even when he wasn’t on house arrest, he’s never needed a massive video that has a complicated storyline. But this time around, he truly embodies the statement, “Less is more”. He leans more on the visual storytelling aspect to get his point across and strategically clap back at the haters.

One-Man Army

Karltin Banks’ art direction for this visual will have viewers feeling like they are placed in a dystopian society. No fancy cars this time around, as YoungBoy can be seen riding a majestic horse in the mountainous terrain. It’s almost as if these isolated scenes of him were intended to symbolize YoungBoy’s feelings toward the industry. More specifically, they are there to show how he feels isolated from everyone else and he’s a one-man army.

“Testimony” feels like a statement song for YoungBoy to tell the world how he’s feeling at the moment, without explicitly saying it. He’s never been one to bite his tongue before, but lyrics like “I miss my old self” prove he’s finally maturing right before our eyes.

For an artist that somehow released 8 full-length projects, last year, YoungBoy has still not shown any signs of slowing down. Anytime he finds the chance to speak on his sins and the things he went through, you can expect it to be a fan-favorite.

New Music: R&B veteran Ne-Yo drops new track “Link Up”

Unlike rap, R&B has always been a genre where age is just a number. At 43 years old, three-time Grammy award-winning hitmaker, Ne-Yo is still churning out hits. The release of his latest track, “Link Up” is a testament to his consistency as a songwriter. This new song was made in collaboration with superstar producer, Hitmaka.

Many people won’t admit it, but Ne-Yo had R&B in a headlock in the early 2000s. Right out of the gate, he saw immediate success with his 2005 single, “So Sick.” Without a doubt, this track propelled him into stardom as it hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. He continued to build off of that momentum with the success of singles like “Miss Independent” & “Closer.”

But in addition to his success as an artist, Ne-Yo is also just a songwriting genius. How many people can say they have songwriting credits for superstars like Usher, Rihanna, and Beyoncé? The Las Vegas native quickly earned a reputation for being a master with the pen, demonstrating there’s no limit to his creativity.

Ne-Yo’s tenured career is a result of his relentless work ethic and ability to evolve with the times. It’s not often that you see an artist have success in three separate decades (2000’s, 2010’s, and the 2020’s). Ne-Yp is the perfect example of how people who can sing & write lyrics can take it really far with their careers.

Throughout the summer of 2023, Ne-Yo and fellow R&B veteran, Mario headlined the “Champagne & Roses Tour”. Aiming to end the tour with a bang, the artist recently dropped a new single titled “Link Up.” “Link Up” brings back the nostalgic R&B feeling that has been missing since the 90’s.

To get the full experience, you can now stream and watch the accompanying video for “Link Up”. Stay tuned to Remixd Magazine for more dope music news.
