Drake takes shots at Joe Budden over his ‘For All The Dogs’ criticism, Budden responds: “You’ll grow up sooner or later”

Podcast maven Joe Budden and chart-topping rap artist Drake continue to clash over Joe’s critique of For All The Dogs.

Drizzy who released his star-studded 11th solo studio LP For All The Dogs on October 6th has roused mixed opinions over the project on social media. One person in particular included famed podcaster Joe Budden. He quipped “Drake needs to mature up” in a prolonged rant during the “The Joe Budden Podcast Episode 664 | 8:45am in Fayetteville.”

“He rappin’ for the children. Yo dog, I had to look up how old this n****a was when I finished listening to the album,” Joe Budden said. “You are 36. Your birthday is in 20 days. I Googled that, too. You’re going to be 37 years old. Get the f**k away from some of these younger n***as. And stop f****ing these 25-year-olds.”

“I miss the Drake that rapped for the rappers,” Budden continued during the episode. “The Drake I loved was the best hook-writer in the world. When’s the last memorable hook you heard from Drake?” Budden probed his co-hosts Ish, Parks, and Ice. His co-hosts also dismissed Drake’s latest album. “I want to hear adult Drake rapping for adult people … He’s rapping for the kids, the streams, the accolades. He ain’t trying to rap for me. I accept that.”

Joe Budden’s co-host agree with him

“Beyond the stylistic or sound, it’s the songwriting” said Parks who questioned how much effort was injected into the project.

“They’re barely putting any effort,” Ish chimed in. “When you write your stuff and play it back, do you challenge yourself that ‘I can do better?’

Meanwhile Ice who is known for visceral and polarizing music takes, also claimed J. Cole outperformed Drizzy on his own project. He then launched into an onslaught of takes about Drizzy not being the lead rapper between the hotly contested topic of “Who is the GOAT emcee between Cole, Kendrick and Champagne Papi.”

Drake responds to criticism

In 6 god fashion, the Canadian-helmed artist responded with his own criticism of Joe Budden. Drake rebuffed Budden stating “Budden failed at music,” and proceeded with shots like “takes a first class flight on special occasions” while making it clear that he owns a 767 [plane] and dubbed him “the poster child of frustration.” In addition, he made it clear that Joe was only doing podcasting because he failed music.

“@joebudden you have failed at music,” Drake started in his long message. “You left it behind to do what you are doing in this clip cause this is what actually pays your bills. For any artist watching this just remember you are watching a failure give their opinion on his idea of a recipe for success … a quitter give their opinion on how to achieve longevity…”

He responds to Joe Budden under an Akademiks post on Instagram

Drake continued, “You switched careers cause the things that pop into your brain had you broke living cheque to cheque and the raps you write had 450 men showing up to your shows in dusty Enyce jeans to screw up their face to Mood Muzik 29 and pretend you are the goat…”

Drake continued to take shots at Budden

“Pls to any artist that’s doing what they feel is right don’t let these opinions affect your mindset after the fact,” the rapper advised to upcoming artists. “This guy is the poster child of frustration and surrendering. You retired and we never hung up your jersey we don’t even remember your number. We know you for doing this… you withdrew from rap not cause you accomplished all you need to it’s cause it wasn’t working for you.”

Moreover, Budden responded with a short and sweet message, “You’ll grow up sooner or later… Father time is undefeated.”

Subsequently, the five-time Grammy winner further trolled Budden and his co-hosts with a slew of Instagram stories. Drizzy scolded Budden laughing off his criticism with a video of Golden State Warriors power forward Draymond Green trash-talking former all-star Paul Pierce , “You thought you was Kobe?” jabs, while also malevolently calling Joe’s co-host Parks “Mark Zuckerberg” insinuating he is a nerd and his opinions on Hip Hop are invalid.

The opinions continue

However, Parks retorted with his on IG story. A screenshot that claims he was involved in Drake’s 2018 song “Sandra’s Rose” produced by DJ Premiere off his record-breaking studio album ‘Scorpion’.

Moreover, the debate around the two beefing has also sparked more conversation around ageism in Hip Hop. Thought leaders such as Punch from TDE are weighing in “Albums are supposed to spark conversation.” Subsequently, Ebro Darden of Apple Music admits that Drake could expand the content in his music in a multitude of posts.

TDE Executive Punch chimes in

Subsequently, Drake is aiming for a 400-450K opening week with the album, and currently sits with a sweeping 17 tracks out of 20 in the Billboard Top 200 charts on the week dated 6th-14th October, 2023. His current track record is set to dethrone Michael Jackson’s long-standing record of the male artist with the most solo number ones ever across all genres in the US (13). Do you agree with Joe Budden’s sentiments? Or does Drake have a point? Birdman was one person who came to Drake’s defense recently. Birdman defends Drake against Joe Budden and Charlamagne Tha God’s critiques: “Respek Drake”

Birdman

In the world of hip-hop, loyalty and camaraderie often take center stage. One person who has consistently exemplified these values is none other than the legendary producer, Birdman. Recently, he stepped up to defend his protege and longtime collaborator, Drake, against two prominent critics of his latest album, For All The Dogs – Joe Budden and Charlamagne Tha God.

Birdman’s response to the criticism was assertive but respectful. He addressed Joe Budden on IG directly, stating, “Calm down brother you not built 4 this real gangsta s**t.” He also took a moment to acknowledge their history of differences but expressed his respect for Budden. Birdman then turned his attention to Charlamagne Tha God, saying, “I think you mean good, and I respek you even though we had our differences, but respek @champagnepapi.”

Birdman comes to Drake’s defense

The defense comes in the wake of both Joe Budden and Charlamagne Tha God taking shots, or expressing criticism rather at Drake’s new album. Budden’s criticism, in particular, garnered attention as he remarked that Drake was “rapping for children.” These remarks didn’t go unnoticed by Birdman, who felt the need to stand up for his artist.

Charlamagne, on the other hand, had a somewhat tumultuous relationship with Drake leading up to the album’s release. The radio host had engaged in a public feud with the Canadian superstar, which eventually led to him trying to reconcile with Drizzy’s fans as they turned against him.

Birdman’s unwavering support for Drake also extended to social media incidents involving Druski, who had trolled Drake and Cash Money. Birdman has never been one to allow any sort of slander toward Drake or the legendary Young Money crew to go unaddressed.

In the competitive world of hip-hop, where artists face both critics and rivalries, having a mentor and advocate like Birdman is undoubtedly invaluable. His loyalty to Drake and the Young Money team has not only helped them maintain their stature in the industry but has also solidified the bonds of brotherhood in the ever-evolving landscape of rap music. Birdman’s willingness to stand up for his friends and colleagues showcases the strength and unity within the hip-hop community, reminding us that, at the end of the day, respect and loyalty reign supreme.

Latest updates in YNW Melly double-murder case results in delay in trial

YNW Melly

In a recent turn of events, the legal saga surrounding Jamell “YNW Melly” Demons has taken an unexpected twist. New allegations of felony obstruction of justice have been leveled against the Broward State Attorney’s Office. The accusations come as Demons prepares for a retrial in his double-murder case that recently ended in a hung jury. The shocking revelation has thrown the case into disarray and raised questions about the integrity of the prosecution’s actions.

Defense attorneys are accusing prosecutors of withholding information

Assistant State Attorney Michelle Boutros, a member of the Broward State Attorney’s Office, dropped a bombshell during a recent court appearance. The Sun Sentinel reported that she testified that she overheard Miramar Police Detective Mark Moretti, the lead investigator in Demons’ case, allegedly request a Broward Sheriff’s deputy to provide false information regarding their presence during the execution of a search warrant outside Moretti’s jurisdiction in October of the previous year.

This revelation is significant. Mostly because it potentially undermines the credibility of Detective Moretti, a key figure in the case against YNW Melly. Such information should have been disclosed to the defense. As it could have been used to challenge Moretti’s credibility during Demons’ recent murder trial, which ended inconclusively in July.

The defense team has accused the prosecutors of attempting to manipulate the outcome of the trial unfairly. They claim that Moretti’s alleged misconduct, as detailed by Boutros, casts a shadow of doubt over the entire case.

Concerns have been raised about the State Attorney

Furthermore, the defense raised concerns about Assistant State Attorney Boutros herself, accusing her of unethical behavior. However, an internal affairs investigation within the Miramar Police Department reportedly concluded that Boutros’ allegations contradicted her previous testimony about Detective Moretti and differed from other accounts that suggested he had done nothing wrong.

As the legal battle intensifies, Demons’ defense team has taken the extraordinary step of motioning for the removal of the entire state attorney’s office from the case. They argue that a fair trial is now impossible. This is due to the latest developments having compromised the integrity of the prosecution.

In response, the prosecution has defended its position. They assert that the defense’s claims lack merit and that the motion to disqualify their office is unfounded. They argue that such a drastic measure as disqualification should only be considered when absolutely necessary.

The fate of YNW Melly and the upcoming retrial now hangs in the balance, with the court left to grapple with these startling allegations and decide on the appropriate course of action. As the legal proceedings continue, the case continues to captivate the attention of both the music world and the legal community, leaving many eager to see how this high-stakes legal drama unfolds.

Saulo Oliveira S.: The Prince of Rock is “Renewing Rock N Roll”

Saulo Oliveira S.

Saulo Oliveira S., also known as “Prince of Rock” is ready to take the music world by storm with his Rock N Roll and revolutionary laced lyricism. Saulo’s background is almost the same as plenty of common kids; parents divorced when he was three, but, spent most of the time only with his mother who later remarried. Additionally, he attended a very-known private school in his city, learned to read at the age of five. As a result, as a child, he enjoyed writing short stories, singing cover versions of Oasis and The Beatles. For someone who grew up writing since childhood, it would be presumable that his skills were quite refined by now. Unequivocally it is. The quality of his compositions are so balanced that it is right to assume he is not just a singer-songwriter but also an old soul.

Welcome to the Wild Horizon

In Wild Horizon, his conceptual album, the opening song introduces the phrase “(…) as the universe is unbounded, you’re always going somewhere to never get nowhere” signifying in his nihilistic vision that no one can ever be anywhere considering that all is pointless. Notwithstanding, in the second track story, everything that seemed to be settled for a happy ending fell apart. It’s the same on “Cosmic Jive,” where the scenes depict a destructive meeting that was doomed to fail. In “Memory Lane” the listener is sent back to childhood, it’s melancholic. It also has a standout verse: “the time is passing by, just like a cloud on cloudy sky”. “The Doors of Perception” is a climax – pure and rough. Proving that those who predicted the death of rock, were wrong. You’re already at the end when the sense of release is reached with the final three tracks.

The last song of the album, then, gives sense to everything. Each song wraps with “In the Beginning Was the End,” with the last lyric “To think that in the beginning was the end“. Followed up by a pounding outro. Although it may seem to be a risk to reference Pink Floyd, it couldn’t be more spot-on. Wild Horizon heartbeat is actually one of the best closing effects in an album in a whole time. And it’s all tempered with well-executed rhymes, acoustic guitar, vocals, piano, drums, and, obviously, harmonica solos.

Saulo not only creates characters and stories with hidden messages. The musician can be either metaphoric or literal if he wants. In “Old MTV“, there is nostalgia in the claiming of good things from past to last in present. “In What Governs Behind Them?” he answers the title song question in a compelling tone. Giving people the responsibility for those they vote for.

The signature sounds of Saulo Oliveira S.

As someone who is also a pacifist, vegetarian, environmentalist and atheist engaged in many actions, his “Lockdown” single, in which he criticizes those who refuse to get vaccine, it is a protest against misinformation, from the revolutionary essence of the artist. On the other hand, Kool Kids Klub, openly inspired in Lord of the Flies, depictures a dystopian world ruled by corrupted kids, assuming that violence and corruption are intrinsic to the human race.

When it comes to music, for a long time, most of the people probably are getting hooked by the beat, the melody, rhythm or charisma of the artist. There’s only a few that would mention that they noticed a meaning made up in the lyrics. This is also an ongoing major change. That’s so irrefutable that in the present moment no one would dare to claim Lana Del Rey’s work is not poetry, for an example. And that’s also the reason why songwriters with something to spread, such as Saulo, are needful.

His creatively, catchy catalogue

Considering that the singer is still climbing in his career, Oliveira’s catalogue, so far, is pretty much complex and mesmerizing. The narratives and statements evoked are current and necessary, features that rock music needs nowadays. This eccentricity is most likely due to his devoted sense of completeness. In fact, Saulo penned all of the melodies and performs all of the instruments in every song. The Prince of Rock, who has had his own independent company, British Rock Records, since 2018, is currently anticipating the release of his debut visual on his official channel.

Apart his music profile, he composed the score of a documentary that he also directed – “Ethics, Politics and Citizenship” (2013). He can also be seen acting in the short film Antichrist-Mas (2020) (V). Saulo got his degree in Law at the Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná (2020), with emphasis in environmental law.

A true witty writer

Additionally, Oliveira also wrote an article published at the most traditional and important legal magazine of Brazil. He was featured in the Review of the Courts, September Edition number 1031, from Thomson Reuters. He also holds a Harvard degree in Arts and Design. Including a course which the study was Beethoven’s 9th symphony and the 19th Century Orchestra, from Harvard Faculty of Arts and Sciences (2022).

So far, he has been two times the cover of the Rock Life Today Magazine (June edition 2022 and December edition 2022). In fact, for his second feature he was crowned “Rocker of The Year”. He was also the cover of the Hollywood Gossip’s “Musicians on Musician” in December 2022. While most recently rocking the cover of “Avec Élégance Magazine”, (March 2023). Nonetheless, the rockstar shows no signs that he won’t stop there. His team confirms that a new single “Nighthawks” is on the way, to be released soon.

Saulo Oliveira S. is “Renewing rock N Roll

After more than a year since the release of “Lockdown”, the Prince of Rock released, in February 4, 2022, the single “Renewing Rock N Roll” has arrived as part of promotion of a new E.P. called “Prince of Rock”. After that the single “Mcneil” came. This new work combines Rock and Punk-Rock with Hip-Hop. The whole E.P. with four fresh songs arrived March 4. And what a great work that is. Critics have been unanimous about the quality of the work delivered on this sophomore E.P. At this point, it goes without saying that Saulo’s recent music approach exceeds the conception of absolute excellence.

At the end of the day, authenticity is always welcome. If he has what’s needed to be a rockstar? Given what the trailblazing talent has achieved, and considering his public appearances, he has style, presence, creativity and the ability to energize a loyal audience through the power of Rock & Roll magnetism. The Prince of Rock, more of a much needed rapidly rising needed songwriter, is ready to take the world by storm. Don’t believe me? Press play on his trendy track titled, “Renewing rock N Roll“.
