Veeze goes all out for the ATL stop of the “Ganger Tour,” brings out Babyface Ray and more

When the conversation arises about what top American cities are currently seeing the most success in rap, it should be a crime to not mention Detroit rap. Trendsetters like Veeze (@veezeworst) have done their part to put the Detroit on the map. Complete with bringing out guest performances, Veeze’s show in Atlanta on Oct. 19 was an unforgettable experience.

An artist’s first headlining tour can truly make or break an artist’s career. But when you have as many viral hit songs as Veeze, the odds are in your favor. His effortless, nonchalant rap flow has cemented his status on the internet and the streets for being so quotable.

In case you’ve been living under a rock, this fall Veeze has been headlining his own solo tour titled “Ganger Tour”. Luckily, Remixd Magazine had the opportunity to catch the Atlanta show and it was certainly a night worth remembering.

Like most rap shows, this one did not start at the listed start time. So to fill the time, the DJ played some Atlanta classics to set the mood. Eventually, the opening act, Anycia (@anyciaaaaaa) came out and I feel like she set the tone for the rest of the night. There’s a reason Drake already co-signed her, despite her having a small sample size of 6 released songs. With her having a sound that appeals to men and women, she’s going to have her hands full for years to come.

Anytime an artist gets to perform in their hometown, you can expect them to bring their “A-game” and that’s exactly what happens. There’s no denying that she delivered an elite performance, displaying a strong stage presence. Anycia has proven to possess all the tools needed to be a star in mainstream rap.

Before Veeze came out to perform, it was only right that the fans started a “Ganger” chant (which is Veeze’s popular phrase). Soon after the Detroit rapper came out, he began his outstanding performance. I appreciated some of my favorites including “Boat Interlude,” “You know I,” “Law ‘N’ Order”. To make it even better, he sprinkled in guest performances from Babyface Ray, Rylo Rodriguez, and CEO Trayle.

In totality, this is by far the best concert I’ve been to this year. I truly didn’t expect to have as great of a time as I did. Shoutout to Veeze for providing such a memorable performance to a sold-out crowd.
