Moreover, what sets Rolling Loud California 2024 apart is its commitment to diversity and inclusion. Embracing Southern California’s rich cultural tapestry, the festival welcomes four regional Mexican artists for the first time. From San Bernardino’s hit-making banda Fuerza Regida to the godfather of “corridos tumbados” Natanael Cano, the stage will be alive with the sounds of Junior H and rising artist Chino Pacas.

Furthermore, the lineup is nothing short of spectacular, featuring a mix of A-listers, ascendant superstars, and rapid risers, providing a snapshot of hip-hop’s dynamic landscape. Notable performers include Don Toliver, Rae Sremmurd, Chief Keef, Big Sean, Summer Walker, PartyNextDoor, Bryson Tiller, and Jordan Ward. The festival also pays homage to the West Coast with special joint performances by YG & Tyga.

Rolling Loud California 2024 promises more than just music; it’s a celebration of a decade of cultural influence. As part of Rolling Loud’s 2024 World Tour, this edition follows the massively successful 2023 event headlined by Travis Scott, Future, and Playboi Carti.

Under the banner of “10 Years Of Rolling Loud,” the festival commemorates its rise from humble origins to a hip-hop powerhouse. Beyond the stages, RL has expanded its influence into streetwear and professional sports, reflecting its evolution into a cultural phenomenon. Founded by Matt Zingler and Tariq Cherif, Rolling Loud stands as hip-hop’s biggest stage, promising more milestones in the years to come. Q&A with Saint Harison

Remixd Magazine was able to get an exclusive interview with Saint Harison backstage to discuss some of his inspirations, expressions behind his music, and goals for the future. Keep reading to learn more about the rising star.

Remixd: What do you think so far has been your breakout moment?

Saint: Probably, the ‘ego talkin’ riff [challenge]. You know it was just so unexpected. I remember writing the song and my manager being like, “oh wow that sounds like a little challenge. … I messaged a couple of my friends and they said, ya this is fun. Then it just snowballed.

Your music is so personal, what are your inspirations when you are writing music?

Always have to be going through something. It’s very detrimental to myself because when I’m in a good place, I’m like, damn I can’t write anything.

I was having an argument with someone at the time and I was winning and then I had a song idea, I kinda want to write a song about how like sometimes I just say the wrong stuff and it’s just like my ego and you shouldn’t listen to that because, you know what I’m like when I get like that or whatevea. I was writing it with an amazing writer Boy Matthews, he was like, that’s great, that ain’t me that’s my ego talkin. And it kinda went from there.

Creative Process

What creative decisions do you make behind the scenes when you are picking arrangements for your live performances?

When I have gone to see artists that I love in a show, I just loved the live element of it. I love feeling like I’m in the room and I’m there and if they mess up it’s great because I’m experiencing this first hand and I always wanted my live performances to feel like that. Very immersive… I change up what I do every time because I feel like I just want everyone to have a unique experience. But it’s also how you feel in the moment.

Where do you think the soulful expression in voice comes from?

I was also so drawn to voices, as a kid and then my cousin introduced me to Kirk Franklin and Kim Burrell and I found Gospel music and then I found R&B music. Honestly I was just so drawn to the feeling, hearing someone’s voice and I remember when I was like 13 or 14 when I was hearing all of this music. A lot of the time I didn’t know what the songs were about, I couldn’t relate because I was so young but they would hit me and the hairs on my arms would stand up and I would get goosebumps and I remember thinking like “wow, I want to make people feel like that when I sing. I want to convey every emotion in my voice, you know whatever happens vocally it’s fine because it’s like how I feel.

Dream Collaborations

What’s next for Saint Harison?

I have been writing a lot of music, I have been in LA for a while writing a lot of the same people i did “lost a friend” with project 1 which is really cool. Ummmm its so hard because I feel like this project came out in May and I feels like its been like 5 years and I don’t know why I feel like that. I feel like its been out for ages. I have just been writing a lot more music its really fun, a little bit more uptempo stuff, cause I was like, “I don’t have any uptempo songs” I go on stage i’m like, I need something to bump to now.

Thank you, Saint for speaking with Remixd Magazine!

In conclusion, Saint emerges as an unstoppable force, expressing his aspirations for dream collaborations. One of his musical inspirations is Jasmine Sullivan, and he envisions creating a unique musical ballad with the legendary Elton John. With a voice as exceptional as Saint’s, why pick one when you can have both!
