Cammi McDermott

Cammi McDermott, a rising artist hailing from Washington, D.C., now calls Boston, MA, her musical home. In a recent interview, she opened up about her musical journey, the inspiration behind her latest EP, “It Was Fun While It Lasted” (IWFWIL), and what lies ahead.

Choosing authenticity over a stage name, McDermott shares, “I thought it would be most appropriate to release the songs as myself.” Her music, a blend of Phoebe Bridgers, Taylor Swift, and a hint of Ethel Cain, paints a vibrant picture of young, lyrically-dense pop country songs with an alternative, electronic twist.

Listen to Cammi McDermott’s EP below:

McDermott draws inspiration from her diverse musical upbringing. “My parents always played music around the house, so I was lucky to be introduced to every genre under the sun before I had even gained consciousness.” Her influences range from the classics like Taylor Swift to newer discoveries like Noah Kahan, MUNA, and The Maine.

The spotlight is on McDermott’s latest project, IWFWIL, a collection of songs that navigates the stages of letting go of a long-term relationship. McDermott reflects, “I started writing these songs while I was still in said relationship, and only finished the project once it had come to an end. It was definitely a surreal experience.”

Released on November 17th, IWFWIL is a testament to McDermott’s ability to channel personal experiences into relatable and emotionally charged music. She describes the EP as a journey of overcoming grief and finding the silver lining in the aftermath of a breakup.

However, as McDermott dives into her next musical chapter, she hints at a broader spectrum of sounds. “I’m already in the studio working on some of my favorite songs to date. Some of these newer tunes show more of my singer-songwriter and alternative rock sides.”

Moreover, with an engaging mix of upbeat tunes and melancholic melodies, McDermott hopes her music resonates with listeners. “I hope that the upbeat songs bring good vibes, while listeners can find comfort in the melodrama of the sadder tunes.”

Furthermore, for those eager to follow McDermott’s musical escapades, she can be found on social media through her linktree: https://linktr.ee/cammimcdermott.

Pusha T criticizes Kanye West in allegedly leaked text messages

Pusha T

The dynamic between Kanye West and Pusha T has grown increasingly complex over the years, marked by a swift deterioration in recent times. Despite being frequent collaborators and close friends, their relationship has been strained, particularly due to Kanye West’s controversies.

Recently, an alleged leaked text message from Pusha T to the Yeezy mogul surfaced online, triggering a frenzy among fans. It’s important to note that the authenticity of the text has not been confirmed and remains speculative at this point. In the text, Pusha T allegedly confronted Kanye West about releasing a diss track in response to a mention of his wife in a song, presumably involving a feud with a well-known Toronto artist.

Pusha T Says Kanye Doesn’t Appreciate Him

The message read, “I put out the song because he dissed me and mentioned my wife in a song. You let Drake disrespect you, your wife, and your family. That’s why you can’t get your wife to respect you. Don’t blame me, Kanye. I would never shoot anybody for you; you would snitch on me. Shyne changed his name to Moses and turned Jew. Please don’t compare me to him. Puff was better off without J. Lo., she was a whore. I’ve held you down, and you don’t appreciate me.”

The surprising element lies not only in the revelation of their strained relationship but also in the other celebrities, such as Diddy and Jennifer Lopez, that Pusha T brought into the conversation. On a separate note, Pusha T addressed Kanye West’s alleged antisemitic behavior in a December 2022 XXL interview, stating, “It’s beyond that and it’s nothing to tap dance around. It’s wrong. Period. But to me, it’s just me and him having a difference of opinion yet again. ’Cause we done had this for years.”

He further disclosed that Kanye West was not currently speaking to him, emphasizing his unwillingness to compromise on the matter. Pusha T expressed concern over recent developments, including Kanye’s praise for Adolf Hitler on InfoWars with Alex Jones, suggesting that it indicated a state of unwellness. He remarked, “I heard about this new stuff. I don’t know. It’s something that just sort of tells me he’s not well, at the same time. I will say that. It’s going to places where it’s no way to move around it.”
