Kodak Black – “Shampoo”
Kodak Black’s “Shampoo” reminds others why he will always be the “Kodak Black who went Bodak Yellow on the Bentley truck.” Backed by the spacey, bass-heavy DZY-produced beat, the Florida rap star uses his signature hypnotic delivery to express how he stands out from his peers. Moreover, Kodak Black proves that they’re not one and the same by detailing his large-than-life lifestyle. For instance, the multi-platinum rapper spits: “Mix match designer rocking Gucci/With the Dolce/Flee’s on fluffy and Mcqueen on 61.” In some parts of the single, Kodak Black revisits a few obstacles he’s hurdled over as well, saying, “Drop my last album same day a b**ch overdose/Next day they found Jaymore laying coma toast.” The rapper’s newest offering follows his latest album, When I Was Dead.
Saweetie – “Richtivities”
Saweetie’s highly-anticipated record “Richtivities” is a testament to the rapstresses’ overall success. Coupled with confident-ridden rhymes, Saweetie’s sleek rap cut finds the “Icy Grl” femcee detailing her luxurious lifestyle and listing the things she does/doesn’t tolerate. “Super fine, bills paid, doin’ fine/True to time, give me brain, use your mind,” she raps. “P***y wet, I’m a water sign/Don’t forget, expensive b***h by design.” As the song continues, Saweetie encourages all the hard-working girlies across the world to let loose. The rapper elaborates on her financial status as well, rhyming, “Money talk, bank account word to mouth/Private jets, first class, not a flex.” Saweetie initially teased the single via Instagram in January of 2024.
Chelsea Pastel – “Greener”
Chelsea Pastel takes pride in her hard work via “Greener.” Accompanied by a sleek, intergalactic trap beat, the femcee reflects on the steps she took to succeed, rapping “I couldn’t take a nap, I had to go and rap, I had to sacrifice, I wore a lot of hats/I couldn’t FaceTime too busy making tracks/That shit paid off/I got a lotta cash and we bout to spend it fast.” Additionally, Chelsea Pastel seemingly chooses to live life optimistically. Through her bars, the rapstress encourages others to take the bad with the good. She spits, “We can do our best, can’t get stressed ’cause the world is a mess/S**t went left, but it’s still alright/Live in the moment who knows what’s next/In due time it will be fine when s**t get dark ‘Ima still shine/Can’t base much off what it look like now meantime.”
Steelo Brim – “N***a Dreams (feat. Vic Mensa)”
Steelo Brim’s jazzy hip-hop cut, “N***a Dreams,” is about getting the recognition one deserves after working endlessly to achieve success. As Steelo Brim drops off his bars in a laid-back flow, he highlights the importance of working for what you want instead of having things handed to you on a silver platter. Similarly, the multi-talented comedian, producer, actor, and Ridiculousness co-host brings attention to how people aren’t recognized for their skills based on their attributes. “Probably too good to be true if it’s as good as it seems,” he raps. “No matter how much we owed that don’t mean a thing/The game is honestly rigged and they cheating my team.” When Vic Mensa hops on the track, he reflects on his dreams, nightmares, and humble beginnings.
Central Cee – “I Will”
In “I Will” Central Cee tells a love interest at the club that he wants to “take her home and show her love.” Showcasing his versatility and knack for storytelling, Central Cee details how his crush has been feeling since she stopped dating a while ago. Now that she’s ready to get back into the scene, Central Cee makes it known that he wants her. “You make me feel young again/I don’t want to grow up/I don’t even know her/ F**k her ’till my d**k won’t go up,” he raps. As the song progresses, the UK rhymer reveals more intimate parts of her life. Central Cee reminds her that if she is looking to shag, he’s the perfect candidate. Lyrics like “If you f**k with someone else/You’re not my girl/I won’t be pissed/If I’m awake and I ain’t taken/Hit my line/I’ll give you d**k,” takes the narrative home.
Cory Gunz and Jaewon – “Rick Owens x Nike Tech”
Cory Gunz and Jaewon’s spine-chilling trap cut “Rick Owens x Nike Tech” finds the rappers dropping off some flex-worthy rhymes. Moreover, the two rap about their charm, drip game, foreign whips, and other assets tied to their lavish lifestyles. At the same time, Cory Gunz and Jaewon call out the people who “ain’t really living quite how they’re living.” He suggests that they focus on their own come up. Despite others’ negativity or fugaziness, the MC’s stand on business and remain unapologetically themselves.
