Read our selections below:

Saweetie – “NANI”

Saweetie’s preppy hip-hop offering, “NANI,” is a woman empowerment anthem at its core. With witty rhymes about self-love, Saweetie’s new single makes it known that no one can dim her light. “Ooh, got that nani, nani, nani (Nani)/Big bag, I’m a fill it up with money,” the rapper delivers in a sweet melodic cadence. “Yellin’, ‘Who gon’ stop me?'” In other moments of the playful-toned single, the ICY GRL drops flex-worthy rhymes, iterating that she could care less about what a hater has to say. Lyrics like “My name in her mouth, I tell that h*e to chew up/Lambo match the Loubis, pretty b**ch and, yeah, my mood up/Ain’t worried ’bout them h*es talkin’ down ’cause I’m too up” take the narrative home.

42 Dugg – “Win Wit Us”

42 Dugg’s eerie hip-hop offering “Win Wit Us” finds the rapper calling out the people who try to befriend him since his fame. As the beat sounds off, the CMG artist details how he deals with phonies and fakes. He raps, “They weren’t out here with us/When we was out here drilling/They starting to see the chicken/Now they all up in the feelings/I’m yelling f**k a n***a.” Similarly, 42 Dugg shows others why he’s known as “Mr. Walk Down,” illustrating how he puts someone in their place. Through his direct rhymes, 42 Dugg also shows love to his day ones. For instance, he raps, “All of sudden they wanna win wit us/But ain’t spin with us/Ain’t load them glockie or choppas/Or them fn’s with us/My n***as been killing/Dunk got like 10 with em’.”

McVertt – “Hate the Real (feat. 41)”

McVertt and 41 wonder who keeps it 100 from the jump in their new dark drill cut “Hate the Real.” In the record, the rappers ask their loved ones if they’d stick around through thick and thin. Similarly, McVertt and 41 speak about pushing through obstacles, remaining ambitious, and what makes them the realest. Before the song ends, the dynamic rap forces make it known that they are hesitant to let others in their lives so fast, highlighting their strong intuition. 42 and McVertt also give props to their day ones, asserting they will ensure they’re straight at all costs. “Hate the Real” comes on the heels of McVertt’s highly energetic hit “Face Down” (feat. Sexxy Red and A$AP Ferg).”

GROOVY – “KNO ME”

In the smooth Alejandro-produced Jersey Club single, “KNO ME,” GROOVY reflects on the dynamic shift of his relationship. Within two and a half minutes, GROOVY uses a melodic flow to explain why he and his partner have decided to go their separate ways. As he takes accountability for his part in the breakup, GROOVY hopes that his special someone will give him another chance. Although they try their best to work out their differences, GROOVY knows they should love on for good. One notable lyric that depicts this goes, “I lied and said I was perfect for her (Ooh)/But I know it won’t work.” Secondly, he delivers “You wanna figure me out/And if I’m letting you down/Try to keep me around.”

Rosehardt – “808 Shimmy”

Rosehardt’s honeyed R&B offering “808 Shimmy” is about staying devoted to someone near and dear to you. The musician’s doting message toward this special someone is heightened by silky vocals and a strong sense of introspection. “Like 50-yard dash with no cleats on, I’m gunnin’ for ya,” he sings. “Burn the studio down while the beat’s on/See the city through the shade that’s a stunna for ya.” Ultimately, Rosehardt seeks to start anew and asks his sweetheart to join him on his journey. His love shines through and through, especially in the lyrics, “And I want my baby to ride out with me/Won’t ya darling?/Take what you please/Got my tank filled up to the limit/Stand outside I’ll be there in a minute.” The heart-wrenching serves as a highlight off his thought-provoking album: the world gets smaller each day it seems to shrink.

Champagne937 – “Kissed By Fire”

Champagne937’s dark trap cut “Kissed By Fire” finds the Jetway Records co-founder persevering in his career despite the circumstances. After comparing his spirit to Godzilla, the rapper drops positive affirmations about rising to the top. By not letting anything get in the way of his greatness, Champagne937 comes out victorious.

I said I’m gone get it/All of this talent is god given,” he raps. “You went and won you Grammy, well good willing/I soaked up the game and went far with it.” As the song continues, the rapper calls out the people who attempt to bring him down. He combats the hate by focusing on his goals and ultimately becomes successful because of it. One line that highlights the song’s theme goes, “N***as is h*es they try to put smut on my name/But I’m poppin’ they know I’m legit/If we talkin stats I’m leading in points an assist/These n***as ain’t nun like this.”
