Reflecting on the meaning of his stage name, Dohsi shared that he had a lengthy thought process. ” In the beginning of my artist journey my initial thought was to go with my first name, Ishmael,” he said. “But after careful consideration, I decided that it was important for me to differentiate from Ishmael the person and Ishmael the artist. My brother, cousin and I
were going back and forth on what my artist name should be and we ended up with
Dohsi. The reverse of Ish O.D which was one of the prior ideas we had. It not only
sounded nice but it actually translates in some languages to Doses (Dosi in Italian),
which I believed described me as a person and as an artist.”

Describing his musical style as versatile and adaptive, Dohsi emphasized the inclusivity of his artistry. “I think there’s something in my music for everybody. Not only in the lyrics and the stories I create but in the melodies,” he explained. Growing up immersed in the eclectic music scene of New York City, Dohsi found inspiration in diverse genres, shaping his unique sound today.

In 2023, Tory Lanez was sentenced to 10 years in prison after found guilty of shooting Megan Thee Stallion in the foot on July 12, 2020, after leaving a house party. The case attracted widespread media attention and discussions on social media on what transpired. Calling into question whether there was any misinformation from either side or whether anything was fabricated.

Appearing on The Jason Lee Show, hip-hop manager Wack 100 is known for representing acts such as The Game, Blueface, and Ray J, among others. He shared his perspective on Megan Thee Stallion and her legal battle with Tory Lanez, accusing her of lying. In their conversation, Wack 100 questions the integrity of her testimony.

His implication that Tory’s treatment of Megan post-incident escalated the situation adds complexity to his opinion, hinting that personal dynamics might have influenced the legal outcome.

And women can be vindictive, and women can be evil.”
