6LACK returns with an authentic look into his life “F*ck. The Rap Game.” This past week, 6LACK previewed the song by posting a voice note audio recording via Instagram. “New Music?,” he stated while adding the songs release date. This past Friday, he released he single along side the music video for the single. Moreover, 6LACK is seemingly venting throughout the song. He gives fans a closer look at his career experiences and the things he’s seen being apart of the music industry.

Although 6LACK is known for his melodic approach within Hip-Hop and R&B, he has delivered the bars throughout the years. Throughout “F*ck The Rap Game,” he unapologetically expresses his trails and frustrations being apart of the rap industry. Additionally, he opened up about he’s actively soul searching throughout his journey while reclaiming his focus.

“Fast forward five years later, broke, but I’m five years greater.Ain’t have much, just prayer, pass me the rock, it’s a layup Now I got a house in Decatur, got a house in L.A.​ and I’m still on a mission tryna soul-search, what does that say? Don’t get distracted with glitz and the glamour,” he says in the song.

For fans of Hip-Hop, summmer is an excited time for the release of new music. it also marks the season where XXL reveals their annual XXL Freshman Class list. each year, XXL aims to feature a new collection of artists within Hip-Hop that have been making waves within the genre. Today (Monday. June 24), the popular publication revealed this year’s list featuring their new cover. This year’s theme is “Not Like Us” which is seemingly inspired by Kendrick Lamar’s song “Not Like Us.” Additionally, XXL has already begun to rollout content leading up to the highly anticipated freestyles and Cyphers featuring each artist.

Moreover, XXL features 12 artists on on this year’s cover. These artists include Lay Bankz, Maiya The Don, Bigxthaplug, Hunxho, Skilla Baby, Cash Cobain, That Mexican OT, Rich Amiri, Bossman Dlow, 4batz, ScarLip. Noticeably, XXL has began to incorporate R&B onto the cover. Artist’s such as 4batz and Lay Bankz who utilizes harmonies throughout their artistry. Prior to the the unveiling of the cover, Fans get the opportunity to vote on artists who could potentially make the cover. However, fans are wasting no time sounding off under XXL’s comment section on how they feel about this year’s list. Additionally, the list started trending on twitter. Nonetheless, there are mixed emotions. “I’m convinced yall don’t actually listen to the fan votes,” Instagram user (@sevynvercetti) stated. “This list straight for this year’s artist. Could be better, but def better than the last couple years,” Instagram user (@KingKamvoty) stated. Fans also began to state which artists they believed should have made the cover.
