Kendrick Lamar is returning to the big stage

Moreover, Kendrick was handpicked by Roc Nation’s founder and rap heavyweight, Jay-Z. Additionally Jay also holds the title of NFL’s live music entertainment strategist. In 2019, Jay-Z partnered with the NFL through his Roc Nation entertainment company giving Jay creative rights in the development of the Super Bowl halftime show for the next five years. Moreover, Jay explained his reasoning behind hand-selecting Kendrick for this year’s big show in a recent statement. “Kendrick Lamar is truly a once-in-a-generation artist and performer. His deep love for hip-hop and culture informs his artistic vision. He has an unparalleled ability to define and influence culture globally. Kendrick’s work transcends music, and his impact will be felt for years to come, ” he said.

Ultimately, this isn’t Kendrick’s first time appearing in the NFL Super Bowl halftime show as a performer. In 2022, he joined Dr. Dre for the Super Bowl LVI Halftime show in a star-studded lineup featuring Mary J. Blige, 50 Cent Snoop Dogg, and Eminem. This time, Kendrick is set to takeover the headlining slot. Nonetheless, it appears that Kendrick’s “Not Like Us” era is catapulting into longevity.
