Jvn brings traditional hip-hop back with new EP ‘In Due Time’

Jvn

Emerging hip-hop artist Jvn (@aapjvn) has officially released his highly anticipated EP In Due Time. The EP represents a defining moment in Jvn’s career as he seeks to revive the essence of traditional hip-hop while carving out his place in today’s music industry. Available on all major streaming platforms, In Due Time is already gaining attention for its authentic sound and powerful lyricism.

Jvn has made it clear that this EP is deeply personal, shaped by both his current creative space and life experiences. “I feel like the music I was making and the space I’m in right now shaped the theme of this release,” he says. With tracks that draw inspiration from hip-hop legends like Jay-Z, Nas, and Meek Mill, Jvn stays true to the roots of the genre while maintaining a fresh, contemporary approach.

The standout track, “B2B,” serves as an ideal introduction for those new to Jvn’s music. His raw talent and lyrical prowess are on full display, paying homage to the greats while cementing his own identity as an artist. As Jvn confidently puts it, “I can rap my a** off, and I’m going for it when it comes to putting myself in the same space as the greats now and before me.”

In addition to his EP release, Jvn recently hit a major milestone by performing as the only local act in a sold-out arena show with Lil Uzi Vert and G Herbo. With new music on the horizon, he’s working hard to secure a spot on tour with a major artist, signaling that this is just the beginning of his rise in the industry.

Cartel Bo dominates with relentless hustle and sharp rhymes in ‘Chapo’

Cartel Bo

Cartel Bo (@cartelbo) is always on go mode, and that’s quite evident in his new EP, Chapo. Stacked with seven hard-hitting tracks, the Houston rap stars’ latest project explores the power of tenacity, owning your voice, and why others should never back down from any challenge. Similarly, Chapo persuades listeners to never back down from a challenge. It’s the perfect project for those who need a boost of motivation or an outlet to speak their piece.

Chapo comes in hot with “The Pope,” a flex-worthy record in which Cartel Bo speaks on the depth of his influence. Over the triumphant trap beat, the rapper compares his notoriety to The Pope, the leader of the Roman Catholic Church.

From there, Cartel Bo calls on his hittas and addresses the opps, making them eat their words.Youngins ready get on your a*s/I’m textin’ one word, and that’s “‘Go,’” he spits, adding, “Was talkin’ crazy than a b***h ’til he got to lookin’ down that pole (Pole).

The Houston rapper then shows off his wealth, rapping about his luxurious lifestyle, thanks to his relentless hustle and hard work.

In his major-label debut single, “Make Em’ Pay You,” Cartel Bo encourages women to swindle the men who fabricate their lifestyle. As the taunting trap production goes off, the rapper essentially lists the ways that ladies can finesse the simps out there.

Lyrics like “Tell that n***a whatever the f**k he wants, bae, you can be it (Girl, you can be it)/One hell of a head on your shoulders, you a genius” take the narrative home.

Overall, Chapo highlights Cartel Bo’s unstoppable drive and his determination to keep pushing forward

By the third track, “You Not Rich,” Cartel Bo pays no mind to the broke boys as he gets to the bag. Once the eerie trap cut blares through the speakers, the rapper stands on business as he takes aim at his haters. He promises that the opps will not be dealt with lightly. Maxo Kream mirrors Cartel Bo as he uses vivid rhymes to express the ways he’s fighting back against them. The song ends with Cartel Bo being simply unbothered because he knows they’re all cap.

Songs such as”Get In There” and “How I’m Comin'” are testaments to Cartel Bo’s hustle mentality. In the following trap-ridden offerings, he drops bars about getting to the racks and not letting up on the opps’ necks. The fan-favorite record “Payday” also highlights Cartel Bo profiting from his success as he celebrates being compensated for relentlessly working around the clock.

The project closes with the violin-centered offering “Fresh Out The Fedz,” which sees Cartel Bo reflecting on his time behind bars. As he ruminates about his personal growth, the musician raps about overcoming hardships to reach to the top. Instead of waiting on an opportunity, he created his own. “Fresh Out The Fedz” ultimately shows fans that Cartel Bo refuses to keep his foot off the gas in and out of the hip-hop industry. From offering raw looks at his journey to dismissing the negativity, the EP delivers themes of resilience and victory. The project also pushes listeners worldwide to apply pressure.

Interview with October London

Remixd Magazine: Congrats on the new project! October Nights follows up from your highly acclaimed 2023 project The Rebirth Of Marvin. Tell us about the inspiration behind this project and how it differs from your previous work?

October London: October Nights is a transitional album. I’m giving you a little more of that Marvin sound but then I quickly offer various styles of R&B and I begin to define myself as a multi-genre artist. I played around with the ’80s and ’90s sound playing homage to the greats who’ve inspired me.

You’re currently opening for Maxwell for his “Serenade Tour” alongside Jazmine Sullivan.  How has this experience been for you so far?

O: It has been simply amazing to share a stage with my new brother, the legendary Maxwell and the beautifully talented Jazmine Sullivan. Maxwell has taken me under his wing offering industry advice which has truly made this experience surreal. Jazmine’s talent is undeniable and she has been moving the audience night after night.

You named this album October Nights, which debuted in the perfect month of October. What does a perfect October night look like for you? What are some of your day-to-day essentials lately?

O: A perfect October night includes listening to some Sade while smoking a cigar and chilling with friends and family.

For this album you collaborated with Ledisi, Tyrese, Boney James, Snoop Dogg, and Babyface who produced “Missing You.” Being that you have been making music for roughly a decade, what is it like having the co-sign of some of the industries most influential artists?

O: Having the co-sign by the incredible artist who have blessed my album gives me a surreal feeling. I never would have imagined I’d ever make it to this level in my musically career so it’s truly a testament to my work ethic and resilience that has encouraged other musical legends to collaborate with me on this album.
