Spitty Patel wants to take over the world, one track at a time; discusses creative process behind ‘Motherland’ album

Spitty

Meet Spitty Patel, a rising force in hip-hop. This artist blends his multicultural upbringing into a sound uniquely his own. The origin of his artist name is as colorful as his music. In a recent interview with Remixd Magazine, Spitty shared his creative process. “One day, I was walking in the woods, and a tiger pulled up on me. I spit on it, and it said, ‘Damn Spitty, why’d you do that?’” he jokes. But on a more serious note, he wanted a name that screamed “rapper” as soon as people heard it.

Growing up in Toronto and Brampton, after being born in Jacksonville, Florida, Spitty says his experiences have shaped him as both an artist and community leader. “Brampton’s multicultural vibe taught me the beauty and challenges of diversity,” he says. His latest album, Motherland, is a tribute to these roots. “It’s a cinematic experience that fuses my South Asian heritage with hip-hop, offering everything from love songs to reflections on the immigrant experience.”

With over 125k Spotify streams, Motherland’s success is no accident. “I’ve been running my own Meta ads after learning from a U.S. agency. The album’s 28-minute runtime makes it an easy, repeat-worthy listen,” Spitty shares.

The inspiration behind ‘Motherland’ by Spitty

The project spans 11 tracks of pure talent. The album itself makes you want to run it back as soon as it finishes. The flow is consistent and the storytelling shapes listeners’ perspective of Spitty.

“Overall I wanted to display the cultures I’ve grown up within and blend them beautifully to create a seamless, cinematic auditory experience,” Spitty reveals. “Some of the songs display the beauty of the culture through love or party music, while others get very specific on the immigrant experience and what it’s like to exist as a South Asian person.”

His passion for community shines through initiatives like hosting open mics and music workshops in Brampton. “We’re building infrastructure for creatives here, showing the world the talent Brampton has to offer,” he says. Spitty’s collaborations on Motherland further elevate the album’s authenticity, bringing in artists from India to add cultural depth.

Looking ahead, Spitty dreams of a world tour and expanding opportunities for youth in creative fields. His advice to aspiring rappers? “Stay consistent, focus on growth, and build with like-minded people.” Connect with Spitty on all platforms at @spitty95 and join the movement. Motherland is streaming now—don’t miss out.
