Interview with Tre Loaded
Remixd Magazine: So you are currently just 21 years old, how did you decide music is what you wanted to pursue?
Tre Loaded: I used to just freestyle with my folks. We use to just smoke and freestyle. When they hear my s**t they just be telling me like “bro your s**t don’t sound like ours you need to drop!” So I just started dropping on TikTok, restyling and stuff and it just went up! No cap!
Being that you are from Memphis, an area that has a strong presence in rap and you are also the Nephew of Don Trip, who were some more of your musical influences from the area?
T: When you watch people growing up like Key Glock and Bagg and all the folks from the city that’s lit. Even YTB Fatt, That s**t lit. When you see it happening its like oh yeah I can do that.
In August you released your mixtape, Loaded. Tell us the inspiration behind the project and how it differs from your previous projects, Made in Memphis (2022) and All about Profit (2023)?
T: For this project, on the music aspect of things I was just more into it you know what I’m saying? Because I use to just rap so now I really make quality music and I’m not just saying s**t or putting words together. I’m now making s**t that makes sense. More quality music.
You also collaborate with That Mexican OT on this project as the only feature, who are some more artists that you would like to work with?
T: I want to do something with Rod Wave, Rylo— I listen to turn music when I’m turnt but like when I’m home 24/7 I like to listen to chill s**t. Things you have to think about.
You are also opening on a major tour, “Take Care” with BigXthaPlug. How has this experience been for you? What has it taught you as an emerging artist?
T: Getting comfortable being on stage … this is new to me. Having all these people on a big tour. A lot of people have been telling me, ‘you’re made for this and this is natural to you.’ So, I feel like I’m doing good.
BigXthaPlug is featured on the remix to your popular single “Another Whip.” Can you tell us more about this record and how you decided to remix this one? What is it like being in the studio with him now that you both are on tour together?
T: We remixed it because it ended up going crazy so we were like that might be a good song to bet somebody big to hop on it and go crazy. Im from Memphis but a lot of people have been telling me I got that Memphis/Texas flow. It would make sense to hop on a song with BigX.
What can fans expect to see next from you after this huge year you’ve had?
T: Im trying to go platinum next. Im trying to get some gold and get some platinum. Im trying to go on a whole different run. If I go on that run now I can be on some XXL. Im trying to take it to the next level.
