Introducing Australian hip-hop artist Miles Natu and new music “Lightning Child”

Miles Nautu

Australian hip-hop artist Miles Natu (@miles_nautu) is carving a unique path in the music scene. Hailing from Hervey Bay and currently based in Brisbane, Miles is preparing for a new chapter in Melbourne. This move signifies his dedication to growing as an artist, surrounded by a vibrant creative community.

Miles uses his real name as his artist name, embracing authenticity and paying homage to the legendary jazz trumpeter Miles Davis. “It carries a lot of significance and helps me use that energy in the music I create,” he says to Remixd Magazine. His sound is a blend of influences from Kendrick Lamar, Joey Badass, and MF DOOM, while also borrowing elements from hip-hop pioneers like Mos Def and Biggie.

Miles recently released new music, a single called “Lightning Child.” According to him, the song was inspired by a conversation with his mother. Moreover, the song explores the bittersweet evolution of childhood dreams into societal expectations. It’s a reflection on how society celebrates ambition in children yet criticizes them for falling short as adults.

Music, for Miles, is more than an art form. It’s a form of self-expression. He strives to convey emotions and ideas that resonate deeply. “All of the powerful experiences in my life play a part in my music,” he shares.

Furthermore, fans can expect more from Miles as he works on his favorite project to date: a full-length album slated for release in 2025. However, while details remain under wraps, he promises it will showcase his growth as an artist.

Ultimately, Miles hopes listeners find inspiration in his music. “If you take something away that inspires you, even better. If you’re an artist who follows me, I hope my journey can positively influence yours.”
