DrexTheJoint is making noise with ‘The One Who Did,’ and he’s just getting started

DrexTheJoint

DrexTheJoint (@drexthejoint) is coming in hot for 2025. The 19-year-old rapper out of Santa Ana just dropped his highly anticipated project, The One Who Did, and it’s already making major waves. With 1.2 million streams and counting, this release proves Drex is more than just another up-and-coming artist. He’s a force to be reckoned with.

Featuring collabs with Heembeezy, Rowdy Racks, and Mike Sherm, the 15-track project blends Drex’s West Coast sound, raw storytelling, and undeniable energy. And if you ask him, there’s no one else doing it quite like him.

“There hasn’t been anybody in Orange County who has done it like me,” he tells Remixd Magazine. “Somebody who reps the city and county so hard without having to claim LA.”

That hometown pride is woven into every track. Moreover, he gives fans an inside look at his journey and hustle. Growing up in Santa Ana, Drex took inspiration from everything around him. The good, the bad, and the real.

“Everything I rap about in my lyrics is everything I’ve been through, seen, or lived in the city I come from,” he shares. “All that has shaped my sound and who I am as an artist.”

This isn’t Drex’s first time making noise. His breakout single “Bounce Out” blew up with over 7 million streams, even though it almost never saw the light of day. “Honestly, that was one of those songs I wasn’t even going to drop,” he admits. “But in the studio, I just started talking my s–t.”

DrexTheJoint is pushing his vision forward while staying true to his roots. “I want fans to feel that West Coast sound when they hear me,” he says.

And this momentum isn’t slowing down anytime soon. In March, Drex will hit the stage at Rolling Loud California, marking one of the biggest moments of his career yet.

One thing’s for sure—The One Who Did is just the beginning.
