Rolling Loud kicks off LA festival week with charity golf invitational, presented by swang

Rolling loud

Rolling Loud is set to tee off its Los Angeles festival week with the Rolling Loud Golf Invitational Presented by swang. Serving as an exclusive charity golf event taking place on March 13 at Angeles National Golf Club. Proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Black Music Action Coalition’s (BMAC) Restore & Rebuild LA initiative. Thus, providing direct relief to Altadena residents and small businesses affected by the devastating Los Angeles fires.

Moreover, with a strong history of community engagement, Rolling Loud has consistently used its platform to give back to the cities it activates in. The festival has hosted golf invitationals across the country, each dedicated to supporting local organizations addressing crucial community needs. The Rolling Loud Golf Invitational serves as a powerful intersection of music, sports, and philanthropy. Thus, reinforcing the festival’s commitment to social impact.

“swang was started to create space for those who were never invited but always belonged. To reframe the game through culture for the ones who needed a different entry point to understand that the sport is for them, too.” said swang founder Modi Oyewole. “Teaming up with the biggest hip-hop festival in the world, right here in los angeles, makes a statement. Golf’s next era is here, and it looks like us. With proceeds benefiting altadena’s fire recovery efforts, this collaboration isn’t just about the future of golf. It’s about giving back to the communities that make it possible.”

Furthermore, the Angeles National Golf Club, located near Altadena, a historically Black neighborhood, provides a fitting backdrop for this initiative. Moreover, Altadena has long faced gentrification pressures. And through this effort, Rolling Loud and swang aim to ensure that residents receive the support they need to stay in their homes and sustain the vibrant community they’ve built

Moreover, with Rolling Loud, BMAC, and swang aligned in this mission, the Rolling Loud Golf Invitational stands as a testament to the power of hip-hop and its ability to drive meaningful change in communities nationwide.

The festival will return to Hollywood Park, next to SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, CA, on March 15-16, 2025.
