Autumn Paige lets go of “Baggage” to make room for new love in her new R&B single

Autumn Paige

Autumn Paige lets her guard down and takes a chance on love in her classic pop-meets-R&B offering, “Baggage.” The singer gets introspective with fans as she reflects on a previous relationship that severed her trust. The betrayal from her former flame has prevented the singer from giving her all in relationships. Her lyrics “Got trust issues I can’t explain” highlight how she’s trying to understand why she’s hesitant to get close to others.

Despite her experiences with dating, she’s taking a leap of faith with the person who’s stolen her heart. When this special someone is in her presence, he seems to take all her self-doubts and pain away. The lyrics “But here we are/Smoking in the park, starting at the stars, 58 impala/Shrooms kicking in, we getting lit, rocking like Nirvana/I’m burning up, you’re burning up, feeling like a sauna,” capture a euphoric moment between the two lovers as they get lost in their romantic connection.

Autumn Paige wants to throw her baggage away

The refrain in the chorus “throw all my baggage away,” shows how Autumn Paige wants to get rid of the doubt that’s holding her back from fully loving another person. The act of letting someone in and giving them with your heart after severe heartbreak is an act of great courage. Moreover, it’s a step toward healing. As she strives to let go of the emotional burdens that have held her back in relationships.

As the song continues, the musician asks her lover if they’ll handle her heart with care. Lyrics like Are you someone who can ease all the pain/Cause I need some attention not temporary affection,” express how she’s seeking a genuine connection. Moreso, she’s hoping this person can provide comfort and not abandon her. Although the artist isn’t rushing into anything, she seems more open to the idea of letting someone in on her own terms.

Overall, “Baggage” illustrates how it’s possible to work through the pain and find moments of vulnerability and strength. By letting go of past baggage and allowing someone into her heart, Autumn Paige shines light on how healing is possible even after the deepest scars.

Danny Singh blends punk and R&B on hypnotic new single “WYD?”

Danny Singh

Queens native Danny Singh is carving out his own lane with a genre-blending sound he calls “Punk n B.” The singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist—who also plays in a band with his brothers—just dropped his latest track, “WYD?” With sultry guitar riffs and an intoxicating vibe, the single is already gaining traction on TikTok, racking up over six million views across all posts.

Blending elements of punk rock and R&B, Danny’s music is a sonic melting pot influenced by legends like André 3000, Sa-Ra, Frank Ocean, and JPEGMAFIA. His journey started young. Growing up in a musically gifted family, he mastered the piano, bass, and saxophone by the age of 10. By 13, he was producing his own tracks, eventually winning AfroPunk’s “Battle of the Bands.” Since then, he’s honed his craft, channeling his experiences into raw, emotionally charged music.

Earlier this month, Danny showcased his versatility with “TOXIC,” a collaboration with Colombian producer Lunas!. The club-ready track was inspired by Lunas’ real-life struggles with an on-and-off toxic relationship. “I went in the booth and wrote from his perspective, punching in line by line without any pre-written lyrics,” Danny recalls. The track’s fast-paced energy and sleek production created an instant anthem for late-night escapades.

The accompanying music video captures the rush of a night out in New York City, with Danny and Lunas! navigating a neon-lit underworld. “Danny and I just hit it off from the jump. We’re both down to try new things and push the bounds,” Lunas! shares.

Danny’s 2024 #F3V3RDR3AM mixtape, featuring tracks like WASSUP, EV0L, and S0L0, has already amassed over a million views on YouTube. With his growing fanbase and genre-defying sound, “WYD?” is his next big moment.

Chikoruss breaks out of the friendzone on new single “Bestfriend”

Montreal’s rising R&B star Chikoruss is turning up the heat with his latest single “Bestfriend.” Infusing his signature “R&Bounce” sound with heartfelt storytelling, the track captures the moment when friendship blurs into something more. Thanks to a little liquid courage and an irresistible groove.

Chikoruss channels pure emotion on “Bestfriend,” delivering a smooth and intoxicating anthem that feels like a scene straight out of a romantic film. The track was inspired by Love Don’t Cost a Thing. He crafted it from the perspective of someone struggling to confess their feelings to a longtime friend.

“While making this song, I was thinking about what I would say to a female best friend who I liked more than a friend,” he explains. “This became an ode to me pouring out my feelings while I’m drunk or letting the liquor talk. Fun fact. I was at home watching Love Don’t Cost a Thing when I came up with the idea for the hook. So while recording this in the studio, I put myself into the role of a movie character to drive the narrative home.”

Chikoruss confesses that she’s more than a bestfriend

That cinematic influence shines through in both the production and delivery. Opening with claps that set the tempo, the track is layered with loose guitar riffs and shimmering keys, creating a sultry yet playful vibe. The chorus hits like a late-night confession, as Chikoruss sings, “Girl, can you tell me how to love you better? This liquor care is making me tell you to chill. Drink half of the liquor, you got me pouring out my heart when I’m with ya.”

With its relatable storyline and infectious melody, “Bestfriend” solidifies Chikoruss as one of R&B’s most exciting new voices. Whether you’ve been in the friendzone or just love a smooth, vibe-heavy track, this one is bound to be on repeat.
