adidas Originals’ OPEN SOURCE brought a music-fueled takeover to L.A.

adidas

Los Angeles lit up this past weekend as adidas Originals dropped OPEN SOURCE. A two-day cultural takeover that celebrated creativity, collaboration, and, of course, the iconic adidas Superstar. Hosted by Deep Down South and Box Boys, the event blurred the lines between fashion, music, and community.

Things kicked off with a “Creative Assembly” live-stream, where streamer Raud linked up with adidas partners Sukii Baby, Giovanna Ramos, and Jerry Hova to pull back the curtain on how a show like this gets built. From piecing together setlists to shaping the visuals and even crafting custom one-of-one Superstars, fans got to watch the blueprint of a full-scale takeover come to life in real time.

But the real action hit on Saturday, September 20th, when OPEN SOURCE took over The Belasco Theater for a one-night-only concert. SoFaygo headlined with a high-energy performance that had the whole venue moving, while Bktherula, Hardrock, Young Dabo, and Kels! each delivered standout sets that pushed the energy higher and higher. The lineup showcased a wave of next-gen artists shaping the sound of now.

The crowd matched the vibe. Many pulled up in custom Superstars that turned the venue into a runway of self-expression. Between surprise giveaways, Superstar-inspired moments, and non-stop performances, the night felt like a snapshot of where music and culture meet.

At its core, OPEN SOURCE proved what the Superstar has always represented: individuality. Whether it’s on stage, in the streets, or streaming live, the silhouette keeps finding its way into the center of culture. Just like the artists who rocked the Belasco stage.
