Fast-rising French Angolan artist Agatchu (@agatchu.official) returns with his radiant sophomore EP Vibe. The project is a masterclass in genre fusion and emotional resonance, Moreover, Vibe is more than just a follow-up, it’s a declaration. Confident, grounded, and creatively unbound, Agatchu steps fully into his artistry. Thus, he blends soul, sensuality, and cultural pride into six sonically rich tracks.
Where last year’s Believe was introspective and rooted in personal growth, Vibe is outward-looking. It’s a joyful, cross-cultural celebration of love, connection, and the beauty of living in the present. Pulling influence from across the Afro-Lusophone world, the EP moves between Lisbon, Paris, Luanda, São Paulo, London, and Lagos, drawing on sounds as diverse as afrobeats, R&B, bossa nova, semba, kompa, and soul. It’s an expansive, genre-blurring tapestry that feels as global as it is intimate.
Agatchu has a fluid sound and voice
Throughout Vibe, Agatchu’s voice fluidly shifts between French, Portuguese, English, and Yoruba. Tracks like the sultry “Chance,” written between Paris and Lisbon, exude Brazilian charm and Lusophone warmth. Meanwhile, “Maradona” pulses with hypnotic Nigerian grooves as it unpacks love and ego in cinematic style.
Adding even more texture to the project are dynamic collaborations with a powerhouse lineup of international artists: Angolan icon Cef Tanzy, Congolese star Ya Levis, and Cape Verdean-Dutch hitmaker Nelson Freitas. Each guest brings their own cultural and sonic lens. Moreover, each one enriches Agatchu’s vision and affirming the EP’s message of unity through sound.
“This project is about celebrating love in all its forms,” Agatchu shares. “Not just romantic love, but joy, friendship, and connection. Vibe is a reminder to live fully, love deeply, and stay present, wherever you are in the world.”
