André 3000 distances himself from Drake-leaked Kanye diss-track

Grammy-winning rapper André 3000 has released a statement revealing the original version of “Life Of The Party” did not feature the Drake jabs Kanye threw at Champagne Papi.

The statement follows Drizzy’s guest DJ set on Sirius XM where the Canadian hit-maker unexpectedly released a version of the song consisting of verses from 3 Stacks and Ye’, as well as a closing sermon from late rapper, DMX. Here are some of the bars Ye’ directly calls out Drake’s name, intimating he asked the rapper to quit playing with his name, alluding to the fact he has gang affiliates with ‘GD’ – better known as Gangster Disciples.

Ye’ has previously gone as far as dropping Drake’s personal home address. The two have been trading subliminal bars on songs in a public feud. In the song, the Yeezy mogul continues to reference his relationship with Drizzy, touching on their past ambitions to create a joint tape, “Wolves”, with billboards appearing in Los Angeles in August 2016 — “Calabasas is the new Abu Dhabi” where the GOOD Music and OVO logos shone beneath the text teasing fans a project between the two once great friends turned nemesis was in the works. Ye’ would quote the same in the two rappers’ 2017 track, Glow — “We the new Abu Dhabi, this is our time”.

André has classily detached himself from any ulterior motives such as beef, clearly indicating “he wants to work with rappers he is inspired by”. This statement in particular, has led some sections of fans that André is inspired again, after he opened up during the May 5, 2020 episode of Broken Record podcast hosted by music producer Rick Rubin he “had no confidence, and his focus was not there”. He says so around the 12 minute mark.

On the other hand Kanye has not responded to Dre’s claims, but an alleged leaked text between his long-time co-writer Consequence implies Ye’ intends to release the track at 8pm tonight.
