Ice Spice – “Deli”

Coming straight off Ice Spice’s deluxe version of Like..? is her highly anticipated record, “Deli.” The New York rapstress first teased the bass-heavy drill song on July 9 through a slideshow of herself on TikTok. On “Deli,” Ice Spice raps about luring men with her ambitious spirit. She also lists some carefree moments, which include dancing in the sandwich shop. Ice Spice also speaks about being that girl and her ascension. “Forty-inch, middle-parted (Forty-inch, middle-parted)/He got all my pics hearted (Grrah, grrah)/They all like, “Damn, Ice, your flow be the hardest” (Like)/I’m not a regular artist,” she raps. Like..? (Deluxe) also includes other new hits like “Butterfly Ku” and “On The Radar (Bonus),” to name a few.

Travis Scott, Bad Bunny, The Weeknd – “K-POP”

Travis Scott, Bad Bunny, and The Weeknd’s “K-POP” is a fusion of angelic vocals, hard-hitting rhymes, and smooth Spanish lyrics over a warm dembow beat. On “K-POP,” the three esteemed musicians encourage their lady to let loose and have a good time. The artists also admit they must blow off some steam with their special someone. “That night was just so fire/I need you back sooner (Sooner)/You come back on this side,” they all sing. “K-POP” is the first single to surface off Scott’s upcoming project Utopia.

A$AP Rocky – “RIOT (Rowdy Pipe’n)”

Initiating a bevy of horns and heavy bass line, A$AP Rocky’s “RIOT” drops some braggadocious bars on a Pharrell Williams-produced beat about his lavish lifestyle, exclusive drip, and how he puts haters in their place. The song also finds A$AP Rocky using the refrain from Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit.” Elsewhere in the record, A$AP Rocky also hints at a collaboration with Rihanna on his Don’t Be Dumb project. “Flossin’ hard, this ain’t dental floss (Uh, woo, woo, woo)/Flossy, glossy (Uh, woo, woo),” A$AP Rocky raps. “Nah, b***h, this ain’t lip gloss (Uh, woo, woo, woo)/Luxe balm up in my palm (Uh, woo, woo)/New collab’ with my baby mom.” The single was accompanied by an ad for Beats Studios Pro, which finds the rapper on an exhilarating mission to get son new Pampers.

Bas – “Passport Bros (feat. J.Cole)”

Bas and J. Cole drop doting rhymes about spoiling their better half across the globe in “Passport Bros.” The feel-good Afrobeat offering finds the Dreamville comrades living in the moment with the person they adore most. Bas, who uses a melodic flow, details how success has landed him opportunities to give his lady the best experiences. “Heard that place is the hot spot/I’m a take you to brunch there,”

Bas raps. “I’m a get you to Rollie/I’m a take you to Italy.” J. Cole uses his trademarked pristine cadence to detail his luxurious lifestyle and even co-owning the basketball team, Charlotte Hornets. “Me and lil Bassy in Barcelona/The news just dropped, I’m a partial owner/What can I say?/Tell Coach Cliff to suit me up and I’ll play/I’m winning/We at Tape Mayfair, you can’t get in/The little back room where not many fit in.”

Paris Texas – “DnD (feat. Kenny Mason)”

The rap duo Paris Texas interpolates Nirvana’s “Heart-Shaped Box” in their newest single, “DnD.” Featuring a verse from RCA Records signee Kenny Mason, the nearly four-minute record finds the trio dropping transparent rhymes about being put in a box based on their artistic direction and breaking free from the status quo. “What the f**k rap?/They love singing and crooning/Most of these hoes is just rapping and mooning/Way that we rockin’, we had to confuse ’em,” one line from the record goes.

Kenny Mason uses the beat as a confessional as he details all the hard work behind the start of his career. The rapper also thinks back on moments meant to break him but ultimately made him stronger. Like Paris Texas, Kenny addresses the frequent attempts to confine his alternative sound too. “They gon’ try to say a n***a a “rock-rap,” like it’s not rap/Guess that mean it don’t count when they get out rapped/Saying it ain’t rock on a rock track/Guessing when you black, it’s all trap,” Kenny Mason spits.

Anselmo Ralph and Rick Ross – “Sola”

Anselmo Ralph and Rick Ross flow effortlessly on the R&B/afrobeat soundscape with lyrics about a woman they wouldn’t mind linking up with on any given day. Anselmo Ralph sings in a hypnotic register and illustrates a moment when his sweetheart messages him while at a party before inviting him over. Later in the song, The Voice Portugal coach reveals that he and his lady have split. This person has moved on to someone new. Rick Ross uses his time on the mic to reflect on humble beginnings. Ricky Rozay also makes his love for Dinero apparent in the following line: “Money wall to wall, I want a ball/We’re the money team going ask Floyd/I got the belt, got the flow, no flaws/Marble on the floor and up the walls.”

Dylan Joshua – “Two Times”

Leading his lyrics with transparency, R&B singer Dylan Joshua sings about stepping away from his lady at times during superheated discussions in “Two Times.” Over the composed jazzy R&B beat, Dylan Joshua reveals why he needed space from this person. He makes it known that she can “miss me with the drama girl.” Dylan’s disrupted peace results in the singer wanting to cool it for a while. Although he tries to keep a distance from this woman, she clings on tight. At one point, Dylan Joshua even wonders if their dynamic is healthy. “How much of my time you wanna waste?” he sings. “Shordie in my mind or in my face/Call me on a Facetime top down/Call me on a tone, can’t talk now/Can’t leave me alone/I’m on lock down.”
