Offset and Cardi B – “Jealousy”
Offset and Cardi B inform people that no one could ever belittle or inferior them in their new single “Jealousy.” Over the Fierce, IsThisShiv, and Boi-1da-produced cut, the married couple drop seething bars that put all the rumors to rest. The music video for “Jealousy” takes inspiration from the movie Baby Boy, which stars Taraji P. Henson and Tyrese. Ironically, Henson also makes a cameo in the music video. Lyrically, Offset and Cardi B go to prove that true love is proven, especially in the hard times. This dynamic is reflected in one of Cardi B’s lines: “They’re too worried ’bout me and my n***a (Huh)/You should worry ’bout the n***a yours sleep with, hmm (Ah)/Face is given and never not gave/Been to Atlanta, but b****s ain’t brave.” Cardi B and Offset’s new single comes after their 2019 single, “Clout.”
Trippie Redd – “Last Days“
Trippie Redd seeks closure from his doting lady in his new song “Last Days.” Interpolating Deftones’ “Sextape,” the nearly three-minute record finds the A Love Letter to You rhymer using a melodic cadence to express the bittersweet moment that’s happening between him and his partner. As Trippie and his sweetheart spend the night unleashing their love for one another, the 24-year-old artist foreshadows the ending of their relationship. He delivers, “One more drive again, one more fly again/One more day, one more night again/Last time dining in, one last ride again/One last kite, ready to reach my high again.”
Alexia Jayy – “Supposed 2”
Alexia Jayy’s “Supposed 2” highlights the singer’s lyrical prowess and powerhouse vocals. Over the lo-fi meets R&B beat, the Alabama crooner thinks back on what she’s overcome in former relationships. As she reclaims her power, Alexia Jayy makes it known that no one can dim her light. “One day, I was sitting in my living room just looking back over my life and all the things I’ve been through,” Alexia Jayy told Medium Creative Agency about her new record. “I wanted to complain, but for some reason, I couldn’t. I felt empowered looking back. Seeing and understanding what I went through was necessary. I went through that because I was supposed to.”
“Laying those words written from my heart in that studio was the best feeling in the world. I can’t wait for everyone to hear. No matter what, I’m sure people will be able to relate!”
Jaidyn Alexis – “Workout”
Humbling those that feel themselves too much, Jaidyn Alexis speaks about how she’s different from the average female in “Workout.” A sleek West Coast soundscape accompanies Jaidyn’s laid-back delivery. On the two-minute record, the MILF Music signee also details how she keeps her boo wrapped around her finger, rejecting other men’s advances and her body enhancements. Elsewhere in “Workout,” Jaidyn Alexis calls out other women who’ve tried stepping to her.
Onsight Deeda – “I’m Wit It”
Cash Money Records signee Onsight Deeda makes it known that it’s on sight when he catches an opp in his peripheral vision in “I’m Wit It.” Over the commanding Sinista On Da Track-produced trap cut, Onsight Deeda uses cut-throat bars to address his biggest haters. Between Onsight Deeda’s bevy of tough talk is an assertation that he’s cut by a different cloth. “Let me catch you out in traffic (Huh), signed a deal, still gettin’ active (Yeah, yeah)/I just bought ol’ dude a casket, I ain’t with that chitter-chatter (Yeah),” he raps.
Lil Dump – “Li Boy”
Never Broke Again signee Lil Dump puts an opp in place via “Li Boy.” As the rapper delivers his ruthless rhymes in a cadence similar to NBA Youngboy, he forewarns the enemies before things get active. With his posse by his side, Lil Dump humbles people with big egos. “Watch your words when you speak on my gang/I spared you once before,” Lil Dump spits. “I catch your partner lackin’ and leave a stain/That Plaq ain’t safe no more, li boy don’t play wit’ me.” The rhymer then tries to suggest other things that his opps can do with their spare time. After exhausting all of his options, Lil Dump comes for their jugular with a line of insults. “I go to trollin’ your li p***y ass, you broke, ain’t got no bag/I been controllin’ your li p***y ass, I make you turn up fast/You act like my baby momma, d****d out, always causin’ problems,” he delivers.
