At the start of this record, he delivers confessional lyrics before detailing a world full of drugs, booze, and fornication. In hopes of leaning away from his obsessions, he spits, “Look to the mirror when you’re fucked/Had a conversation with God/Prayer for the stair, this the magic hour/In a K hole like a clam in chowder/I wanna melt on my own, but it won’t leave me alone.”
2) Stunna Girl – “Like Dat“
Baddies West star Stunna Girl reaffirms why she’s quite incomparable in her Chicago-styled trap cut, “Like Dat.” Using a distinctive flow, the rapstress speaks about why she and the next girl up aren’t the same. She compares her endless revenue to a get-rich scheme, spitting, “you would think I was scammin’ the way the money flowin’.” As the song carries on, Stunna Girl also touches on her luxurious lifestyle and being able to keep a partner on their toes. After hearing the record, one user even labeled “Like Dat” as “INSPIRATION RATCH.”
3) Lil Keed – “Self-Employed”
Lil Keed’s estate has dropped a single off his highly anticipated album Keed Talk To ‘Em 2. The late rapper passed away from a rare condition called eosinophilia late last year. The aforementioned track is about grinding so much that others will question if you work a 9 to 5. “Self-Employed” also finds Lil Keed putting his haters in their rightful place. Keed Talk To ‘Em 2 is executive produced by his daughter Naychur Render. The album features NAV, Big Sean, Trippie Redd, KayCyy, Fridayy, Young Thug, Dolly White, Karlae, Lil Gotit, and StickBaby. 4) COCHISE – “Don’t Matter“
Coming in heavy with video game elements, “Don’t Matter” is about living life with no regrets. COCHISE delivers his bars in a flow seemingly inspired by the likes of Playboi Carti. On “Don’t Matter”, the former XXL Freshman speaks about running a bag with his comrades, pulling up in foreign whips, wearing the hottest designer, and keeping a baddie on his arm. The two-minute song also sees COCHISE forwarning his haters. “Like don’t get hurt/Like a nigga get stomped out here for the low/Man call up Lil Durk.”
5) Luh Tyler and BabyTron – “Fat Racks Pt. 2”
Luh Tyler and Babytron let it be known that they “ain’t doing shit for you if that shit don’t get me paid” in their newest single. The eerie trap offering finds Luh Tyler and BabyTron detailing their immense love for the mula. So much that they won’t let anything (or anyone) stand in the way of their profits. Coinciding with this are the two rappers’ braggadocious bars. Babytron also touches on his rise to fame, saying, “Doggie woke up in a mid-life crisis, don’t know who to blame/Thinking, “Who gone help me?”/Independent, gives a fuck, I’m thinking who gon’ shelve me.”
6) Wolftyla – “Close”
On “Close,” Wolftyla yearns for a distant lover to be near. The R&B/pop beat allows the singer to express her feelings toward the one she “loves the most” in a captivating vocal range. Moreover, the New York songstress explains why they’re a perfect match. She wishes that this person would stop pulling away. Wolftyla says about the record, “‘Close’ is an open love letter to someone I’ve grown to learn and understand enough to love deeply. I wanted to capture in sound what it feels like for me to keep my love life private, but the sadness of feeling as I will never be able to disclose who I love. Trip Carter can’t help but give a sweet lady the world and then some in “Heels.” He even encourages her to “walk them heels and talk your shit.” In nearly three minutes, Trip Carter can be heard singing with a suave vocality as the funky R&B beat goes off. The song is ultimately a confidence boost for women across the globe. The song rolls in time for Women’s History Month. Trip Carter is primarily known for his undeniable talent with the bass guitar.
8) KCAMP – “ICU Freestyle“
Spitting over a sample of Coco Jones‘ “ICU,” KCAMP drops his most pristine bars about how he’s HIM. In a matter of two minutes, the rapper speaks about getting to the bag and a woman who’s caught his eye. Elsewhere, the Vibe Forever rapper drops a line of warning bars aimed at his opposing forces.
