Brent Faiyaz – Larger Than Life (Album)
Maryland crooner Brent Faiyaz drops his third studio album titled Larger Than Life. Off the back of single “Moment of Your Life” with R&B songstress Coco Jones, Brent shares another classic opus. Spawning vulnerable cuts in “Last Ones Left,” Forever Yours,” and “Outside All Night,” Brent intimates he can abscond his toxic tendencies for the right woman. Sonically, he opts for blushes of 90’s R&B such as “Tim’s Intro,” (Timbaland-produced track) on to sparkly boom bap R&B-rap offerings while tapping collaborators like A$AP Rocky, Babyface Ray, N3WYRKLA, A$AP ANT and more relatively new faces in CruddyMurda and more.
Eric Bellinger – Curious (feat. Lil’ Kim & Lola Brooke)
R&B stays winning with singer-songwriter Eric Bellinger sharing a fan favorite off his 2021 joint tape with Hitmaka, 1-800-HIT-EAZY sequel that dropped earlier this year. “Curious” the remix recruits New York trailblazers Lola Brooke and Lil’ Kim who effortlessly administer their undeniable bars on the sticky R&B cut. Kim in top form acknowledging she’s really her, dropping irresistible flirtatious rhymes while Lola brings forth her Brooklyn grit and energy in a sexy and measured fashion. You can never go wrong if you sample D’Angelo’s “Lady” and the pillowy track doesn’t disappoint.
David Guetta – Big FU (feat. Ayra Starr, Lil Durk)
One of house music’s modern icons after reveling in resounding success during the early 2010’s and further throughout the decade, French DJ and producer Guetta is a known matchmaker. On this particular record, he pairs rising Afrobeats beauty Ayra Starr with Chicago’s golden child Durkio for a spellbinding anthem, “Big FU.” Ayra stars on the summery bop fit for dance-floors and electronic music lovers as she sends shots at her exes that fumbled her. Meanwhile, Durkio’s short but splendid cameo is inspiring with his now-signature melodic inflections present making for a transcendental track conflating three worlds.
Lavaud – Roll On Me (feat. Reekado Banks, Patoranking, Tiwa Savage & Kanis)
It’s an all-star line-up as British-Mauritanian sensation Lavaud teams up with Afrobeats heavyweights Reekado Banks, Tiwa Savage, Patoranking, and Haitian up and comer Kanis. The wavy tune is one to keep your hips swaying and the party jumping.
42 Dugg – Go Again
Detroit heavyweight 42 Dugg is back on his 2020 form as he returns with his first single since being freed from prison. Hardly skipping a beat on piano riffed production from CMG beatsmith Forever Rolling, Dugg showcases why he’s one of the most prolific names in Hip Hop right now. Dugg is gearing up for another unstoppable run of success picking up where he left from.
Stunna Girl – Courtesy Of A Rich N*gga (CRN)
West Coast rapstress Stunna Girl continues her vivacious run as one of the artists to watch. On the unapologetic single “CRN”, Stunna flaunts her bourgeoisie lifestyle. “The song was inspired by how my man spoils me” she says “But also myself. I’m a boss on my own” she continues. The Sacramento starlet has had a breakout year in her own right with singles such as “Like Dat” going viral with remixes from JT of the City Girls, as well as French Montana.
Joyner Lucas – 24 Hours To Live
Two-time, Grammy nominated hip-hop artist Joyner Lucas released his new single “24 Hours to live” which marks the latest release from his forthcoming album, Not Now, I’m Busy. The song details Joyner’s anticipated reality and the series of events that would occur if he learned he only had one day left to live. He takes fans on a journey through his turbulent thoughts with lyrics like “take all his sh*t and then steal his identity” and “slap any hater that showed any jealousy.”
Mariah The Scientist – To Be Eaten Alive (album)
Mariah the Scientist enlists several guest features on her third LP To Be Eaten Alive. The new project includes 10 new tracks of pure vibes and R&B, alternative magic. “40 Days n 40 Nights” (feat. Vory) is one of the standouts from the project. Following his inclusion on Kanye West’s Donda, Vory has become a sought-after artist for collaborations, and his performance here justifies the hype. 21 Savage adds his signature style to complement the overall vibe of the track. To conclude the album, Mariah’s partner, Young Thug, joins her on “Ride” for a fitting finale.
