6LACK SZA

RemixdMag’s best new songs this week push people to speak their minds. From 6lack‘s “Mean It” to Rome Streetz‘s new album, Noise Kandy 5our list serves as a clap back to the haters and nearly life-altering situations.

Read our selection below:

6lack – “Mean It”

6lack’s new record, “Mean It,” touches on the uncertainty of a relationship. As the R&B singer tries to work through the emotions of their imminent breakup, 6lack speaks about moving on for good. Similarly, the Atlanta artist uses his feelings of jealousy, disappointment, and rage to tell his ex off. 6lack makes it known that their relationship is a one-and-done deal, especially with this line: “I don’t do no pleadin’ (Pleadin’)/You can hit the Four Seasons (Yeah)” 6lack’s new song can be found on his EP, Homicide.

Latto – “Issa Party (feat. BabyDrill)”

Latto uses Waka Flocka‘s “Grove St. Party” as inspo for the chorus in her highly anticipated record, “Issa Party.” On the Pooh Beatz and Go Grizzly-produced trap cut, the Atlanta rapstress addresses the “b***hes love to hate,” guaranteeing that she wants all the smoke. Elsewhere in the rapper’s newest offering, BabyDrill mirrors her energy, fighting back the opps with tough talk and braggadocious bars. “Glock bisexual, talkin’ crazy, quick to smack a b***h,” he raps. “The industry scared of a n***a, don’t know if I’m formin’ that party, we spinnin’ that b***h/I feel like Waka Flocka ’cause I just got the flame in here.”

Sultanthegiant – “Blue Checks, Blue Faces”

Sultanthegiant’s “Blue Checks, Blue Faces” is about being angered about working hard and seeing no results. Although the musician is “chillin with blue checks and dropping blue faces on a regular,” Sultanthegiant still feels like he hasn’t accomplished all his goals yet. The song serves as an outlet for those feeling a bit hopeless about their journey to success. “Only got a mattress in the crib/I don’t got no sheets,” Sultanthegiant delivers. “Popping champagne with my friends/When I don’t got the means/Do you know what it means/To work so hard and not see anything.”

Rome Streetz’s new LP, Noise Kandy 5, is the last installment to the rapper’s Noise Kandy series. “I have chosen to end the series here at five because that number signifies power,” Rome Streetz said. “The series was made to display how dangerous I am with the pen. We’re going out with a bang!” On the MC’s newest offering, he flexes his lyrical muscles, annihilating his rap peers with an ounce of pivotal rhymes. After hitting the play button, hip-hop enthusiasts are immediately hooked. The New York rhymer touches on several themes, from having a high level of prominence to “still eating dinner off the same plate he was bagging.” The production is just as remarkable as it incorporates boom-bap, hip-hop, and more. The album features Joey Bada$$, Curren$y, Boldy James, Rigz, Conductor Williams, Evidence, and Wavy Da Ghawd.

Radamiz – “The Monk’s Ferrari”

BK MC, Radamiz uses vivid storytelling to touch on societal issues and his impeccable pen game in “The Monk’s Ferrari.” The song’s sleek boom-bap soundscape is by Verde Madera. In under 4 minutes, the lyrical rapper drops clever one-liners and bars that move people to make positive changes. One line that highlights the song’s underlying theme goes, “This picture shows he’s responsive/Verses is vlog-esque/Kept it Vogue cover through the grotesque/Oh yes! We vent!/For all the steam built up being oppressed/We kept iron to put negative charges to ions.” The single comes from Radamiz’s forthcoming project, El Duende!

“‘The Monk’s Funeral’ is the first song Verde Madera and I are releasing together after building a 10-year friendship,” Radamiz said in an exclusive press statement given to Medium Creative Agency. “The title comes from a book at our AirBnB in Topanga called The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari. Verde had just made those two beats the morning I showed up, and when I heard them, we decided to merge them before I added my vocals. I knew we had something special immediately.”
