Happy new music Friday! The weather is saying we’re outside, the weekend is finally here and it’s arriving with a number of dope new tracks to dive into. The list is bountiful, with new joints ranging from Future to Kehlani to Giveon. Let’s not waste any more time and get into this weekend’s best new tracks.
I’m Dat N***a by Future
Bust out the APs and toxicity, HNDRXX SZN is back in effect! Atlanta veteran Future graced fans with his ninth studio album, I NEVER LIKED YOU and “I’m Dat N***a” is one of the early standouts. The four-minute track is an adrenaline rush that drives Pluto to black out in the booth. The regally nocturnal instrumental matches his energy to a tee as Future trades bars between his former life and current acclaim. (I turn average b**ches to a pop star, I’m in my glow/ I had swagger, I been one of none, yeah, when I was poor). The early album cut is just as much a banger as it is a mantra.
any given sunday by Kehlani ft blxst
Kehlani isn’t the typical artist you’d expect delivering strip club jams, but it didn’t stop her from making “any given sunday”. The track comes off her latest album Blue Water Road, as she enlist rising singer Blxst for the collaboration. The bassline and energy is all West Coast vibes, but the beat sounds tailor-made for the afterhours. It’s something extra seductive about Kehlani’s angelic voice dedicating her verse to dropping stacks on her favorite dancer. Definitely looking out for this to be a fun listen to run back throughout the upcoming summer nights.
Frozen by Lil Baby
Lil Baby isn’t ready to stop his recent streak as he releases his newest single, ”Frozen”. As soon as the piano-laced beat develops, the 4PF honcho attacks his verse with testimonies of his own. Just like his recent offerings, ”Frozen” features Baby sounding focused as ever and still in attack mode. With this kind of consistency, Lil Baby’s forthcoming album definitely will be met with high anticipation.
Lie Again by Giveon
LA-bred crooner Giveon drops his first single of the year with his latest song, ”Lie Again”. The singer has made a name for himself making emotionally introspective love songs and this one’s no different. The track’s somber guitar and misty synths set the mood for Giveon to express his unremorseful regret for a torn love. The song is signature for his sound but it possesses a certain cinematic quality that really make the emotions come alive on here.
