Atlanta’s own, Bktherula returns while igniting her own spin on “Adult Swim.” Following high anticipation, the single debuted late September. Throughout the song, BK brings the energy while delivering a sense of nostalgia to a popular early 2000’s adult cartoon. She takes on a storytelling approach while rapping about her experiences with women while out on tour. Additionally, Bk furthers the narrative with a partially animated theme.

The single “Adult Swim” pulls inspiration from various outlets. The Skaiwalker produced beat holds a sample from Vano3000’s “Adult Swim” rendition of “Time Moves Slow” by BadBadNotGood. Additionally, Vano3000’s has taken TikTok by storm as the sound currently has over a half of million shares. Throughout Bk’s rendition of the song, she sings her own version of the hook prior to adding her fast paced rhyme scheme and clever bars. The single is accompanied by a fun filled video inspired by the late night television program, “Adult Swim.” Bk also utilizes this time to pay homage to the popular claymation Adult Swim shows growing up, “Robot Chicken.” You can watch the visual below.
