Emerging artist BRIII (@brianacreta), hailing from San Fernando and Los Angeles, is making waves with her latest single, “Turks & Cakes,” featuring John Mackk and produced by 808 Mafia. This track offers a glimpse into her upcoming EP, La Madrina, showcasing her bold sound and unapologetic style.
“Turks & Cakes” captures a carefree, luxurious vibe inspired by the idyllic atmosphere of Turks and Caicos, playfully twisting the title. “The song embodies that spontaneous, worry-free energy you feel on vacation—living in the moment and embracing it,” BRIII shares. “I replaced ‘Caicos’ with ‘cakes’ to celebrate the female form, representing confidence and empowerment.”
BRIII’s path hasn’t always been glamorous. Raised by a single mother, she navigated the West Coast cities of San Fernando, Fontana, and Corona, often facing instability while sleeping on floors with her brothers. These hardships fueled her resilience and shaped her relentless work ethic. Though now based in LA, her music reflects Southern influences, featuring a deep voice, gritty beats, and hard-hitting flows that keep listeners intrigued about her background.
Her sound draws from Southern rap icons like Future, 42 Dugg, and Moneybagg Yo, as well as female pioneers like Cardi B and Latto. BRIII merges these inspirations into a powerful mix of confidence and storytelling that resonates with fans. “Music is my way to connect with people, especially those who think they know me without understanding my journey,” she explains.
BRIII’s upcoming EP, La Madrina (The Godmother), is set for release later this year and will feature collaborations with top LA talent and Grammy-winning producers. The project promises to highlight her versatility, blending English and Spanish lyrics with rap, R&B, and dembow influences.
