The Bronx hitmaker’s latest single “Up” is currently the No. 1 song in the country and what allowed her to break another record in music history. Upon receiving the news, Cardi B took to her Instagram saying “I want God to come see me in my dreams when I take a nap today so I can kiss his feet and tell him how much I love him!!!”
After a much-discussed performance with Megan Thee Stallion at the Grammys last week, the single saw a significant increase in engagement with 34.9 million radio airplay audience impressions in the week ending March 21. It also garnered 22.7 million U.S. streams in the week ending in March 18 according to Billboard.
The song’s success is yet another accomplishment to add to the list of the 28-year old emcee’s career. This secured her fifth No. 1 song, which also expanded her record as the female rapper with the most Hot 100 No. 1s. Just a few weeks ago she also became the first female rapper to have a diamond song with her breakout hit “Bodak Yellow”. Cardi posted some of these accolades herself on her Instagram with the caption “I can’t wait to drop my album.”
