Cardi B is looking forward to new beginnings this upcoming new year as a single woman. Today, Cardi B has confirmed her split from her husband of 6 years, Offset, via Instagram live. Earlier this month, fans began to speculate the possibility of a split between the couple after Cardi’s recent cryptic Instagram quotes. One of these quotes reading “You know when you just out grow relationships.” Additionally, it was discovered last week that they unfollowed each other on Instagram.
Following her show in collaboration with TikTok, Cardi B appeared on Instagram live to confirm her newly single status.”I’ve been single for a while now,” she said. This Instagram live seemingly followed as rapper Blueface accused his ex partner Chrisean Rock of cheating with Offset via X. Offset has since denied these allegations.
Unfazed, Cardi addressed the rumor as a “sign.” “I don’t think it’s true, I don’t care to find out,” she said. Both Chrisean and Offset have denied the cheating rumors. Additionally, Cardi revealed she is in a good place and asks fans to not cause any ruckus.
“I’ve been single for a minute now,” she admitted. “But I have been afraid to like… not afraid, I just don’t know how to tell the world. But I feel like today has been a sign. The last time I got on Live, I kind of wanted to tell you guys. But I didn’t know how to tell you, so I changed my mind. But it has been like this for a minute now. I just took it as a sign.”
Cardi B is ready for a new beginning
Over the years, things have been all but smooth sailing for the two, however. Moreover, Cardi B and Offset first became an item in 2017. Later in the year, the two got secretly married. Additionally, the couple announced their split the following year in 2018 but later reconciled. In 2020, Cardi filed for divorce from Offset in which resulted in another reconciliation. During their six year marriage, the couple welcomed two children: Kulture (5) and Wave (2).
Furthermore, Cardi is looking forward to the upcoming new year. “I wanna start 2024, like, fresh, open,” she said during the live. “I don’t know. I’m curious for a new life, for a new beginning. And yeah, I’m excited,” she added. She also shared her plans to release new music in 2024.
